CLOSING ROADS.
NOTICE is hereby given that objections have been lodged with me against the shutting up of certain road lines included in the Roads Diversion Ordinance 1874, situate in the Road Districts of Aparima, Blueskin, Half-Way Bush, Peninsula, Portobello, Shotover, and Otepopo. A special meeting of the Executive Council will be held in the Government Buildings, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 17th day of December, at noon, for the purpose of deciding the said objections, when parties interested are invited to attend.

NOTICE.—The Suburban Road Board intend making a general rate of one shilling in the £ on the full net annual value of property within the District, at their meeting on the 7th of December, 1874, till which date the proposed rate is open for inspection at my house.

WANTED £3000.
THE District Board and Ratepayers of the North East Valley Road District being incorporated by virtue of the Otago Roads Ordinance 1871 and the Highway Boards Empowering Act are hereby authorised to borrow to the extent of £3000, the Board having gone through the preliminaries in terms of the Act are now in a position to invite investors to lend in sums of £100, and upwards for 5 years at per cent. The security offered is the District General Rate of one shilling in the £ the District extends from the Leith Toll Bar to Port Chalmers thence from Otago Harbour to Flagstaff being over 20 square miles. Tenders to be addressed to Isaac Green Esq. Chairman North East Valley Road Board on or before the 12th day of December on which day the Board meets at the Valley school-house at 2 p.m.

HAWKSBURY ROAD DISTRICT.
NOTICE is hereby given, that an application has been made to His Honor the Superintendent to proclaim certain Roads, twelve in number, in the Hawksbury Road District, to be Main District Roads, and that His Honor will proceed to consider the application on the 17th of December next, at noon. Objections to the request of the Board being complied with must be lodged at the Provincial Secretary’s Office on or before that date.

MAKAREWA ROAD DISTRICT.
ORDER.
THE Makarewa Road Board have duly notified their intention to open up a New Road along the northern side of section 20, block V., Winton Hundred, Lime Hill Reserve, and thence in a south-easterly direction till it reaches the present road, in lieu of the road line shown on the record map, along the southern side of the said section 20, block V., Winton Hundred. No objections having been lodged to this proposed alteration, and the owner and occupier of the ground over which the proposed road is to run having signified their assent thereto, the said Board does hereby, and by virtue of the thirty-third section of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” direct that the proposed alteration of road shall be executed according to plans and specifications, and that this new road shall be in lieu of the line which it is herein specified they are intended to supersede.

Also, to open up a New Road along the Eastern side of section 19 of the said block and Hundred; the said two roads to be in lieu of the line dividing section 18 from part of section 19 and section 20 of the said block and Hundred. No objections having been lodged to this proposed alteration of roads, and the owner and occupier of the ground over which the proposed roads are to run having signified his assent thereto, the said Board does hereby, and by virtue of the thirty-third section of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” direct that the proposed alteration of road shall be executed according to plans and specifications, and that this new road shall be in lieu of the line which it is herein specified it is intended to supersede.

TAIERI ROAD BOARD.
NOTICE.
THE Taieri Road Board intend to levy general rates for year 1874-75 on all rateable property within the District, as follows, viz.:
East Taieri Subdivision—Sixpence per £.
Outram Subdivision—One Shilling per £.
Broadalbane Subdivision—Sixpence per £.
The Rate Book lies at the Clerk’s house, in Mosgiel, where objections, if any, must be lodged in writing within 30 days from date hereof. Objections will be heard at a Special Meeting of the Board, at Riccarton, on the second Saturday in January, 1875, at 3 o’clock p.m.

CITY OF DUNEDIN.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Regulation, No. XV., made under the authority of Section I., Subdivision 1, part 8, of Schedule 13, of the “Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” (as adopted by Byelaw No. 2, of the Council of the City of Dunedin, made on the 18th day of November, 1868) and entitled a “Regulation for prohibiting swine within certain limits which it shall not be lawful to keep any swine,” was made and passed by the Council of the said City, on the 14th day of October, 1874.
Also, that a Regulation, No. XVI., made under the authority of Section 48, subdivision 1, part 10, of Schedule 13, of the “Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” (as adopted by Byelaw No. 2 of the Council of the City of Dunedin, made on the 18th day of November, 1868) and entitled a “Regulation for fixing the Standings of Hackney Carriages, and of Borough Stage Carriages, in certain cases,” whereby the mode in which any such carriages are to stand thereon, and for other purposes; also, for fixing the Fares for Hackney Carriages and Borough Stage Carriages, in certain cases,” was made and passed by the Council of the said City, on the 14th day of October, 1874.
