REGULATIONS.

NOTICE: is hereby given that by virtue of the powers vested in His Honor the Superintendent of Otago, the following Regulation under the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1872,” has been made, namely,—

Every Applicant for a License of land under the sections in the “Waste Lands Act 1872,” referring to the alienation of lands for license or lease on deferred payments, shall make the following declaration on oath, that is to say,—

In the matter of an application for a license of land in the District of the Province of Otago under the Otago Waste Lands Act 1872, being section Block of the said District under the clauses in the Land Act referring to the alienation of lands by license or lease on deferred payments.

I [surname and full name of the Applicant] in the Province of Otago and Colony of New Zealand, do hereby solemnly and sincerely declare on oath as follows:—

  1. That I have made the application above mentioned for the license of section Block District in the Province of Otago aforesaid, under the provisions in that behalf contained in sections 47 to 64 inclusive in the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1872,” in conformity with and not in violation of the provisions of the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1872.”

  2. That I am not the licensee either in my own name or in the name of any other person or persons, of more than two hundred acres of land under the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1872.”

  3. That I am not the owner of any pre-emptive right in any Run under any Pastoral Lease or otherwise.

  4. That I am above the age of eighteen years.

  5. [That I am unmarried or have obtained a decree of judicial separation from my husband.]

  6. That I am not the agent or servant of or a trustee for any person in my application above mentioned.

  7. That I have not entered into any agreement with or made arrangement with any person to permit any person to acquire by purchase exchange or otherwise the allotment or section or any part thereof in respect of which my application abovementioned is made nor have I made any agreement or arrangement as aforesaid to permit or allow the said allotment or section to be used or possessed in whole or part by any person whatsoever.

  8. That I have applied for the said allotment or section of land for my own personal use benefit and possession and bona fide and with no intention of violating any provisions or declarations within the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1872.”

And I make this solemn declaration on oath conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1872” and of the “Justices of the Peace Act 1865” and of every other statute enabling me in that behalf.

Declared on oath at this day of 1874 before me one of Her Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the Colony of New Zealand.

PROCLAMATION.

Setting apart Crown Lands in the Otago Gold Field for the purpose of granting Agricultural Leases.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago in Council.

WHEREAS by the 33rd section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” it is enacted amongst other things that it shall be lawful for the Governor to cause Crown Lands situate within a Gold Field to be selected and set apart for the purpose of granting Agricultural Leases thereon and therefor: And whereas Thomas Dick, Esquire, the then Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to and vested in him in that behalf, did, by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province, bearing date the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, constitute and appoint all the territory therein described, including amongst
