NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the "Town and Country Police Ordinance, 1862," (Section 5, Sub-section 25), enacts that "Any person guilty of carrying any Firearms, Sword, Dirk, Dagger, or other offensive weapon, within any town or public place in the Province of Otago, without permission of the local authority, is liable to be fined in the sum of £20."

Sailors are therefore cautioned against carrying their sheath knives in towns or public places within the said Province.

THE chestnut Horse advertised by me last month is not claimed before Monday the 19th instant, he will be sold at the Glenore Pound on that day at noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 4th day of October, 1874, by Sergeant Bullen,

One bay mare, black points, small star scar on near rump, shod all round; no visible brands;
Owner unknown; for wandering at large in the streets of Queenstown, for which Twenty Shillings driving expenses are claimed, and in default of being released, the above mare will be sold at the Public Pound at Hayes Lake, on Friday, the 30th day of October, 1874, at twelve o'clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 12th day of October, 1874, by John McDermid, Sawyer's Bay,

One dark strawberry cow, with white stripe on back, branded like a triangle in circle on left loin.
Owner unknown; for trespassing on Mr. McDermid's ground, Sawyer's Bay, for which two pounds ten shillings damages is claimed, five shillings trespass, and in default of being released the above cow will be sold at the Public Pound at Port Chalmers on Friday, the 23rd day of October, 1874, at twelve o'clock noon.
