NOTICE.

In the matter of the "Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871," and of an Order made by the North-East Valley Road Board for diverting a Road.

UNDER and by virtue of the provisions of section thirty-three of the "Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871," I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint and fix Friday, the 23rd day of October, proximo, at the hour of 12 noon, at the Superintendent’s Office, in the Provincial Government Buildings at Dunedin, as and to be the time and place for taking into consideration an Order made by the North-East Valley Road Board, on the 19th day of August, 1874, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 913, on the 26th day of August, 1874, for diverting a Road through section 43, block IX., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District.

Dated at Dunedin, this 22nd day of August, 1874.

RANGER APPOINTED UNDER THE "PROTECTION OF ANIMALS ACT."

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 31 of the "Animal Protection Act, 1873," that "It shall be lawful for the Superintendent for time to time to appoint one or more fit and proper persons to be and be styled Rangers, whose duty it shall be to observe and take care that the provisions of this Act be complied with in the Province or District for which they may be appointed, and to lay informations against such persons as may offend against the same, and any such Ranger to discharge such duties as the Superintendent shall think fit." Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act, do hereby declare that I have appointed Mr. Alexander Gray to be a Ranger, within a radius of twenty miles from the City of Dunedin, in the said Province.

Dated at Dunedin this 13th day of October, 1874.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that he has appointed the following Members of the Constabulary Force to be Inspectors of Slaughter-houses and of Cattle intended for Slaughter; and also Registrars of Brands; each for the District mentioned after his name.
