NOTICE

Of certain Lands in the Province of Otago having been set apart as a Reserve for Recreation purposes, for the use of the Inhabitants of Moa Flat and Ettrick.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of Section 160 of the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872,” recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved for the purposes of recreation for the use of the inhabitants of Moa Flat and Ettrick; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now, therefore,

I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described a reserve for the purposes of recreation for the use of the inhabitants of Moa Flat and Ettrick, that is to say, all that parcel of unsurveyed land in the Province of Otago, containing by estimation four hundred and twenty (420) acres, more or less, situate in the Tuapeka District; bounded towards the west by block numbered I., nine thousand seven hundred and forty-three (9743) links; towards the north-east by the Clutha river, twelve thousand (12000) links; and towards the south by a line commencing at the Clutha river and proceeding due west across Trigonometrical Station B, and thence by a road line extending in the same direction to block numbered I., six thousand (6000) links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; excepting out of the above description Cemetery reserve and road line thereto.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have under and by virtue of Section 160 of the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872,” recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved as a Racecourse for the use of the inhabitants of Cromwell; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now, therefore,

I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have reserved and dedicated the lands hereinafter described as a Racecourse for the use of the inhabitants of Cromwell, that is to say:—All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement three hundred (300) acres, more or less, situate in the Cromwell District, being Section numbered seventeen (17), Block three (3), on the map of the said district; bounded towards the north-west by Crown Lands, six thousand (6000) links; towards the north-east by Crown Lands, five thousand (5000) links; towards the south-east by Crown Lands six thousand (6000) links; and towards the south-west by Crown Lands, five thousand (5000) links.

GATES

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 13th October, 1874, for—

Contract No. 983, Erection of six pairs of Gates on the Green Island Branch Railway.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 983.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

BRIDGE OVER ORETI RIVER

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 20th October, 1874, for—

Contract No. 981, Erection of Timber Bridge over the Oreti River at Winton.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at District Engineer’s Office, Invercargill.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 981.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


BRIDGES

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 13th October, 1874, for—

Contract No. 982—Supply of 1000 yards Metal on Road Northern Trunk to Moeraki.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Hampden.

Tender to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 982.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

FRESH Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 13th October, 1874, for—

Contracts Nos. 957, 958, 959, 960, and 961—Construction of Stone and Timber Bridges on road Clutha to Mataura between Clinton and Mataura Bridge.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at District Engineer’s Office, Invercargill.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 957, 958, 959, 960, and 961,” as the case may be. The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


DEFERRED PAYMENTS

2500 ACRES OF LAND for sale on deferred payments on Bellamy Station, Tuapeka.

Notice is hereby given, that Sections II, 12, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 40, 40a, 41, 42, Block II; Sections 31, 42, 43, 44, 46, 47, 48, 49, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, and 59, Block III., Tuapeka West District, will be open for application on deferred payments on Tuesday, the 3rd day of November, 1874.

Applications must be made by the applicant in person, at any Land Office in the Province, and a deposit of 1s 3d per acre paid at the time of making application, being the first half-year’s occupation fee.

The purchase money is payable at the rate of 2s 6d per annum for 10 years.

Plans to be seen, and lithographs obtained, at Dunedin and Lawrence.


3300 ACRES OF LAND to be open for sale on Bellamy Station, Tuapeka.
