PROCLAMATION

Appointing a certain road in the Mornington Road District to be a Main Road.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by section 171 of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” it is provided that, upon the application of the Board of any District, the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation, appoint that any roads or part of roads, whether within or upon the boundary of such district, shall be Main Roads, or Main District Roads: And whereas the Board of the Mornington Road District has applied to have the road described in the Schedule hereto appointed a Main Road: Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said section, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and appoint the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a Main Road.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement two (2) acres one (1) rood and twenty-four (24) poles more or less, situate in the Town District, being parts of sections numbered respectively sixty-five (65), sixty-six (66), sixty-seven (67), sixty-eight (68), seventy-four (74), ninety-three (93), and ninety-four (94), block six (VI.) on the map of the said district: bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of the said section numbered 74 two hundred and twenty-five (225) links distant from its south-western corner, and proceeding in the same north-easterly direction fifty (50) links; thence in a south-easterly direction two thousand one hundred (2100) links, four hundred and thirty (430) links, five hundred and twenty (520) links, four hundred and forty (440) links, two hundred and seventy (270) links, three hundred and forty (340) links, four hundred and sixty (460) links, five hundred and fifty (550) links, and four hundred (400) links; thence in a south-westerly direction along the south-eastern boundary of the said section numbered 65 forty (40) links; thence in a north-westerly direction four hundred (400) links, five hundred links, five hundred and forty-five (545) links, four hundred and fifty (450) links, three hundred and thirty (330) links, two hundred and sixty (260) links, four hundred and sixty (460) links, five hundred (500) links, four hundred and ten (410) links, and two thousand one hundred (2100) links, to the starting point.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-fourth day of September, 1874.

WHEREAS by section 171 of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” it is provided that upon the application of the Board of any District, the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or part of road, whether within or upon the boundary of such District, shall be Main Roads or Main District Roads: And whereas the Board of the Aparima Road District has applied to have the road described in the Schedule hereto appointed a Main District Road: Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said section, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and appoint the road described in the Schedule hereto, being a road in the Heddon Subdivision of the Aparima Road District, to be a Main District Road.

SCHEDULE.

The road commencing at a ford on the Aparima River about one mile north-east of Trig. B, thence extending through section 4, Oreti Hundred, to the westernmost corner of section 78 of said Hundred, thence along the south-west boundary of said section 78, and through section 79 till it joins the road line laid out through section 65.
