Under “Otago Waste Land Act, 1872.”

IT is hereby notified to the Applicants whose names appear in the subjoined Schedule, that the purchase money of these sections must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue in Dunedin and Invercargill, on or before Wednesday, the 23rd day of September, 1874, otherwise the applications will be deemed withdrawn, cancelled and void, and the deposit made at the time of lodging the application will be forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that the Lease for 10 years of Run No. 459, containing 6200 acres, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Survey Office, Clyde, on the 1st day of October next, at noon, in terms of the Otago Waste Land Act, 1872, at the upset price of half-penny per acre. Rental to be an assessment of 3s. 6d. for every head of great cattle, or 7d. for every head of small cattle to be depastured on the run; but the minimum stock on which assessment will be charged shall not be less than 500 sheep. Lease to commence on the 1st day of October, 1874. The annual rent and a deposit of one-tenth of the purchase money shall be payable at the fall of the hammer, the balance of purchase money within a month.

TO SCHOOL COMMITTEES AND SCHOOL TEACHERS.

THE following Resolutions of the Education Board are published for the information of School Committees and School Teachers. By order,

  1. The salary due to any teacher who may have resigned and left his appointment in any school will not be paid to him unless he produce to the Secretary of the Board a certificate from the Chairman or Clerk of the Committee of such school, to the effect that the said teacher has, up to the date of his leaving, properly made all the entries in his School Register, and account of School Fees, which are requisite for the correct filling up of the Annual Returns of the school, and that such registers and account have been handed over to the said Chairman or Clerk.

  2. The Clerks of School Committees are hereby enjoined to intimate to the Secretary of the Board without any delay the date on which any teacher may cease to perform his school duty, and also the date on which any teacher hereafter appointed may enter on the performance of duty; otherwise there may be a difficulty in obtaining payment of salary.

PORT CHALMERS GRAMMAR SCHOOL

APPLICATIONS for appointment of Female Teacher will be received up to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 16th inst. Salary £100 per annum. Applications, testimonials enclosed, to be endorsed “Application for Teacher” and addressed to the Clerk, Port Chalmers Grammar School.
