PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

I N conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases, for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or before the 7th day of October 1874.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Lawrence.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 7th day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

Schedule.

Charles Thomson on behalf of the Charles Thomson & Co. for 10 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, being section 107 block V., Waitahuna East.

Robert Rutherford on behalf of the Arrow River United Gold Mining Company limited for 9 acres of land more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at the Gorge of Bush Creek, Arrow.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Lands, until noon of Monday, 21st September, for Contract No. 87, Survey of 18,000 acres in Greenvale and Crookston Districts into sections of 200 acres each.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Survey Office, Dunedin.

TENDERS will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, the 11th inst., for certain alterations to heating apparatus, and other works at Immigration Depot, Caversham. Plans and Specifications at office of Roads and Works, Dunedin. The lowest or any Tender not necessarily accepted.

SEPARATE Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Thursday, the 24th September, 1874, for the erection of Passenger Station and Goods Shed at Winton.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of Tender obtained, at the Traffic Manager’s Office, Invercargill, and General Manager’s Office, Dunedin.

Contract No. 961 — Construction of stone and timber Bridge over the Otaria Stream, on road Clinton to Mataura Bridge.

Contract No. 962, Toitois Jetty — Construction of timber Jetty at Toitois, Township of Fortrose.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Mataura Bridge.

Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No. 961" or 292, as the case may be. The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

BRIDGES.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 22nd September, 1874, for:

Contracts Nos. 957, 958, 959, 960 — Construction of Stone and Timber Bridges on road Clutha to Mataura between Clinton and Mataura Bridge.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Balclutha.

Tenders to be endorsed "Tender for Contract No. 957, 958, 959, 960," as the case may be. The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

COMPETITIVE DESIGNS are invited for a Building to be used for the Otago Provincial Museum.

The conditions under which Designs will be received can be seen on application at the Office of the Secretary for Works.

Designs will be received at the Office of Lands and Works till noon of Thursday, 1st October, 1874.
