PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold-mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objections, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or before the 9th day of September, 1874.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, at Lawrence.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 11th day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

NOTICE.

NOTICE is Hereby Given that His Honor the Deputy Superintendent of Otago has, by and with the advice of his Executive, appointed Andrew Mercer, Esq., J.P., Dunedin, to be a member of the Otago Harbour Board, in the room of Keith Ramsay, Esq., who has resigned his seat as an elective member of the said Board.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 25th August, 1874, for:

Contract No. 995—Supply of 1320 Cubic Yards of Metal on road Palmerston to Oamaru.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of Tender obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Hampden.

Tenders to be endorsed, Tender for Contract No. 995.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Lands until noon of Monday the 24th August, for:

1st. Survey Contract No. 85—Sectional Survey of 14,000 acres in Waikaka and Chatton Districts.

2nd. Survey Contract No. 86—Sectional Survey of 20,000 acres in Waikaka and Waipahi Districts.

The size of the sections to be 200 acres each.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of Tender obtained at the Survey Offices, Dunedin and Invercargill.

Tenders to be accompanied by a deposit of five per cent.

Contract No. 954—Gravelling 80 chains of road near Hampden.

Tenders to be endorsed, Tender for Contract No. 954.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
