BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF POTTERY WORKS IN OTAGO
THE Provincial Government, being desirous of encouraging the establishment of Pottery Works in Otago, is prepared to pay a Bonus of £250, as under:—
On the erection of buildings and plant to the value of at least £300—£75.
On the production of pottery to a value of not less than £150—£75.
On the production of a further quantity of pottery to a value of not less than £200—£100.
The pottery ware in each case to be suitable for household or domestic purposes, to be produced in works permanently established in the Province, and to be manufactured either wholly or to a large extent from material obtained in the Province.
Proposals will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until the 1st of October, 1874, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the works proposed to be erected, the date at which the same will be in operation, and that the parties will be bound in the sum of £100 to produce pottery to the value of £300, within two years from the date on which their offer is accepted.

CLASSIFICATION OF WASTE LANDS
WHEREAS by the 26th section of the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872, it is enacted that the Waste Lands should be, and were thereby, divided into three classes, namely, Town Land, Suburban Land, and Rural Land; and whereas by section 27 of the said Act it is enacted that it should be lawful for the Board at any time, and from time to time, to declare, by notice in the Provincial Gazette, that any land should belong to either of the said classes; and whereas the Waste Lands Board of the Province of Otago has resolved that the land described in the annexed Schedule shall belong to the class of Suburban Land: it is hereby notified that the said land shall henceforth be classed as Suburban Land, and shall be sold or otherwise dealt with as land belonging to the said class.

SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Province of Otago, and Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement twenty-two (22) acres one (1) rood and fifteen (15) poles, more or less, being section numbered sixty-four block four, Oamaru Survey District: bounded towards the north by section numbered 4 six hundred and thirty (630) links; towards the east by sections numbered respectively 21 and 22 two thousand four hundred (2400) links; towards the south by section numbered 60 one thousand (1000) links; towards the west by section numbered 60 two thousand two hundred (2200) links; and towards the north-west by a road line four hundred and twenty (420) links, and intersected by a road line one hundred (100) links wide.

NOTICE
Appointment of a District Land Officer and Office at Switzers.
WHEREAS by the 144th Section of “The Otago Waste Lands Act 1872” it is enacted that it should be lawful for the Waste Lands Board, with the consent of the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint offices at such places as might be most convenient for the sale and disposal of land within any land district; and also to appoint officers or other persons for conducting such sales, and for receiving applications for the sale, letting, disposal, or occupation of Waste Lands, and for generally carrying into effect the provisions of the said Act. And whereas the Waste Lands Board of the Province of Otago have, with the consent of the Superintendent of the said Province, resolved that the Warden’s Office at Switzers, shall be appointed an Office for the sale and disposal of land within the Invercargill land district as the same is described in Gazette No. 845 of the 23rd April, 1873, and that John Nugent Wood, Esq., shall be an officer for conducting sales, and for receiving applications for the sale, letting, disposal, and occupation of the Waste Lands within the said district, and for generally carrying into effect the provisions of the said Act within the said district: It is therefore notified that the said John Nugent Wood has been appointed as said to be an officer for conducting sales, and receiving applications for the sale, letting, disposal or occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown within the said district, and that from and after the 1st day of July 1874, applications for the sale, letting, disposal or occupation of the Waste Lands within the said district may be made to the said Officer at the Land Office named aforesaid.

NOTICE
WHEREAS by the 144th Section of “The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872,” it is enacted that the license to occupy section 66, block VII, Waipahi District, 75a. 1r., under the 161st clause of the Otago Waste Land Act, 1872, will be offered for sale by public auction at the Royal Mail Hotel, Popotunoa, on Tuesday, the 28th day of July next, immediately after the sale of the Township of Clinton, at the upset price of £1.
