PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Act Amendments Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases, for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or before the 1st day of July, 1874.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Lawrence.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 17th day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

SCHEDULE.

Isaac M’Farlane, on behalf of M’Farlane and party, for 4 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, being section 43, Block X., Waitahuna East.

NOTICE.

In the matter of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and of an Order made by the Aparima Road Board for diverting a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that the order made by the Aparima Road Board on the fourteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, and published in the Otago Government Gazette, No. 895, on the twenty-fifth day of February, 1874, for diverting a road through section seven (7), and sections thirty-nine (39), eighteen (18), nineteen (19), seventeen (17), sixteen (16), fifteen (15), and twenty (20), Oreti Hundred, was, there being no objections to the diversions in the said order mentioned and the owners and occupiers of the sections aforesaid having assented thereto, confirmed by me on Tuesday, the twelfth day of May last.

NOTICE.

To the matter of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and of an Order made by the Portobello Road Board for diverting a Road.

UNDER and by virtue of the provisions of section thirty-three of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” J. James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint and fix Friday, the 17th day of July proximo, at the hour of 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Superintendent’s office, in the Provincial Government Buildings, at Dunedin, as and to be the time and place for taking into consideration an Order made by the Portobello Road Board on the 10th day of June, 1874, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 913, on the 17th day of June, 1874, for diverting a Road through sections 4 and 5, block III, Otago Peninsula Survey District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, this 23rd day of May, 1874.

Present—His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent, Donald Reid and George Turnbull, Esquires, Members of the Executive Council.

WHEREAS by section three of the “Jetty Dues Ordinance, 1858,” it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, to levy such tolls, dues, and wharfages as the Superintendent, with the advice of his Executive Council, shall from time to time think fit: Now therefore His Honor the Superintendent, in pursuance of the provisions in the said Act, and in exercise of every power and authority enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, doth hereby order that the Jetty Dues chargeable on all wooden posts and rails and sawn timber, landed on or shipped from any public jetty in the Harbour of Otago, on and after the first day of July, 1874, be at the rate of eight pence for every five hundred superficial feet.
