PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PROCLAMATION

By His Honour James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled the "Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," it is enacted, in the three hundred and ninetieth section of the said Act, that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of any Province by Proclamation published in the Government Gazette of such Province, to declare that any complete parts of the several parts of the said Act, numbered from two to twenty-two inclusive, as he shall consider applicable shall extend and be applied to any city, town, or place in such Province incorporated at the time of the passing of the said Act under any Act or Ordinance of the Legislature of such Province, and in such Proclamation to fix a time at which such parts or any of them shall extend to any such city, town, or place: And whereas by another Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The Municipal Corporations Acts Amendment Act, 1871," it is enacted that with regard to any city, town, or place within the Province of Otago incorporated under "The Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," and "The Otago Municipal Corporations Empowering Act, 1865," and that whether incorporated at or after the time of the passing of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," the Superintendent of the Province of Otago may from time to time, and as often as may be necessary, exercise the power conferred on such Superintendent by the three hundred and ninetieth section of the said Act, to declare that any complete parts of the several parts of the said Act, numbered from two to twenty-two both inclusive, shall extend and apply to such city, town, or place: And whereas the Town of Arrowtown, in the Province of Otago, is a town or place within the Province of Otago incorporated under "The Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," and "The Otago Municipal Corporations Empowering Act, 1865:" And whereas it is expedient that the several parts of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," which are hereinafter mentioned and enumerated should be extended and applied to the said Town of Arrowtown: Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of said Province, and in pursuance and exercise of the power vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the first day of June next ensuing the date hereof the complete parts of the several parts of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," numbered respectively—

Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, in the said Province, this 18th day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

NOTICE TO APPLICANTS FOR UNSURVEYED LAND,

Under "Otago Waste Land Act, 1872."

It is hereby notified to the applicants whose names appear in the subjoined Schedule, that they have been declared to be the purchasers of the Sections set opposite their names in the Schedule, and that the purchase money of these sections must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue in Invercargill, on or before Wednesday, the 3rd day of June, 1874, otherwise the applications will be deemed withdrawn, cancelled and void, and the deposit
