PROCLAMATION.

Appointing a certain Road in the Otepopo Road District to be a Main District Road.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” it is provided that upon the application of the Road Board of any road district the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads, whether within or upon the boundary of such district, shall be main roads or main district roads: And whereas the Road Board for the Otepopo road district has applied to me, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint the road hereinafter described to be a main district road:

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf rested in me by the said “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” do hereby appoint the following road situate within or upon the boundary of the Otepopo road district aforesaid, to be a main district road (that is to say):

That road commencing from the Maheno Road, between sections numbered 60 and 82, Block IV, Otepopo, and passing through sections 60 and 35, thence between sections 35, 36, 30, 13, and 10 on the right, and 34, 31, 12, and 11 on the left; thence Quarry and Boat Harbour Reserve, and along the Beach to section 58, Block III; thence in a south-westerly direction till intersected by Woodlands Main District Road at section 2 of 4, Block II., Otepopo District.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this eighth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

OTAGO ROADS ORDINANCE, 1871.

Alteration of Polling Place.

WHEREAS by notice and appointment dated the eighteenth day of June, 1872, published in Otago Provincial Gazette, the polling places for the respective districts and subdivisions of districts therein mentioned, under and by virtue of the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” were duly fixed and appointed until the same shall be altered or varied: And whereas it is expedient that the polling place in the district and subdivision of district after-mentioned should be altered:

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby revoke the appointment of the polling place for the district and subdivision after-mentioned made by the notice and appointment dated the 18th day of June, 1872, and in lieu thereof do hereby appoint the place after-mentioned to be the polling place for the district and subdivision of district after-mentioned at which the poll shall be taken at all elections under the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” held for the same until duly altered or varied, of which notice is hereby given to all concerned:

of Blueskin, to be a Manager of Blueskin Cemetery, in place of the late Mr. John McFarlane.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that the Commissioners appointed for that purpose under the Southland Waste Lands Act Amendment Act, 1873, have furnished to him the description of the boundaries of the land classified by them as Agricultural Land and as Pastoral Land.
