PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Naseby, on or before the 18th day of May, 1874.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, at Naseby.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 24th day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

SCHEDULE.

William Grayson, on behalf of the Try Again Company, for 5 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated above head of Clarke’s Gully.

NOTICE.

In the matter of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and of an Order made by the Aparima Road Board for diverting a Road.

UNDER and by virtue of the provisions of section thirty-three of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint and fix Tuesday, the 12th day of May proximo, at the hour of 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Superintendent’s office, in the Provincial Government Buildings, at Dunedin, as and to be the time and place for taking into consideration an Order made by the Aparima Road Board on the fourteenth day of February, 1874, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 895, on the 25th day of February, 1874, for diverting a Road through section seven (7), and sections thirty-nine (39), eighteen (18), nineteen (19), seventeen (17), sixteen (16), fifteen (15), and twenty (20), Oreti Hundred.

BOTANICAL GARDENS.—Notice is hereby given that in future no children will be admitted into the Botanical Gardens unless in charge of some person who will prevent them from injuring or destroying the shrubs and plants.

NOTICE.

“PROVINCIAL COMPULSORY LANDS TAKING ACT, 1866.”

NOTICE is hereby Given, that it is intended to introduce a Bill into the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago at its next session, authorising the Superintendent of the Province of Otago to take compulsorily, for the purpose of making a Road in the District of Waitahuna West, parts of sections numbered respectively one (1), two (2), three (3), and four (4), block six (VI.), Waitahuna West District; and Notice is hereby further Given, that a copy of the Bill so intended to be introduced as aforesaid, may be inspected at the office of the Clerk of the Provincial Council, on and after the twentieth day of April next.

THIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that the Commissioners appointed for that purpose under the Southland Waste Lands Act, Amendment Act, 1873, have furnished to him the description of the boundaries of the land classified by them as Agricultural Land and as Pastoral Land respectively, pursuant to the provision of the said Act; and that copies of such description have been deposited at the Land Office in Dunedin, and at the Land Office, Invercargill, where the same may be inspected by the public at any time during office hours; and further that the said description of boundaries will be published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette on Wednesday, the sixth day of May next, on and after which date the whole of the land therein described will be open for sale, except such parts thereof as may be reserved.
