OTAGO LIGHT RAILWAYS.
TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Friday, 27th March, for Contracts Nos. 877, 878, and 879, Construction of Light Railways in the Western District of Southland, embracing “Riverton to Orepuki,” “Riverton to Otautau,” and “Riverton to Invercargill and Winton Line at Makerewa Bridge.”
Drawings, Specifications, and General Conditions may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contracts, Nos. 877, 878, and 879,” as the case may be. The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS.
TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Tuesday, 31st March, 1874, for Contracts Nos. 891 to 895, maintenance of portions of road between East Taieri Bridge and Tokomairiro, from the first day of April, 1874, to 31st March, 1875.
Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Camp Tokomairiro.
Tenders to be indorsed “Tender for Contract for No. 891, 892, 893, 894, 895,” as the case may be. The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

BRIDGE OVER KAWARAU RIVER.
CONDITIONAL TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 14th April, from persons desirous of erecting a Bridge over the Kawarau river near Morven Ferry.
Conditions may be inspected at the office of the Provincial Engineer and at the Police Camp, Arrow.

CARTING.—Tenders will be received at the Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Friday 20th March current, from parties willing to do the carting required in connection with prison work, also for other carting in Dunedin, required by the Government and not contracted for. Particulars as to the carting required in connection with prison labour may be obtained at the Gaol, Dunedin, and as to the other carting, from Mr. Cairns, Government Buildings.
TENDERS wanted for the erection in wood of Immigrants Barracks, at Riverton.

MESSRS CHRISTIE AND SONS have applied to the Saddle Hill Road Board for permission to construct a Tramway alongside the Saddle Hill District Road from Mrs. Renwick’s corner to Love’s Hotel. Objections to such permission being granted must be lodged with the Chairman, or the Clerk to the Board, before the 1st of April next.

EDUCATION MEETINGS.—In consequence of no School Committee having been elected for the following-mentioned districts on the 12th of January, His Honor the Superintendent has appointed a Meeting of the Owners and Occupiers of land and householders of each district, to be held in the Schoolhouse, on Monday, the 30th March, at Seven o’clock, p.m., to elect a School Committee for the current year:—

The meeting at Clinton will be held at the Royal Mail Hotel.
