NOTICE.

MESSRS CHRISTIE AND SONS have applied to the Saddle Hill Road Board for permission to construct a Tramway alongside the Saddle Hill District Road from Mrs. Renwick’s corner to Love’s Hotel. Objections to such permission being granted must be lodged with the Chairman, or the Clerk to the Board, before the 1st of April next.

NOTICE TO IMMIGRANTS.

THE Government having determined to wind up all outstanding accounts due by Immigrants for passage money, intimation is hereby given to all those in arrear, that unless payment is made on or before the 1st day of March next, the Provincial Solicitor will be instructed to take proceedings in order to enforce a settlement.

Parties not in a position to pay in full, or who wish an extension of time, are requested to apply personally, or forward particulars of their cases to the Treasury before the above date.


IMPOUNDED, March 4, 1874, by Mr. J. Feraud, Monto Christo Farm, Dunstan Flat,

1 red and white steer, branded WW off hip, like L off ribs.

For which four shillings damages are claimed, for trespassing in orchard, and in default of the above steer being released, he will be sold on Friday, the 27th day of March, 1874, at 12 o’clock, noon, at the Leaning Rock Clyde Pound.

One bay horse, branded W, off shoulder.

Owner unknown, for trespassing on the Town Belt, and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound at South Dunedin, on Friday, the 27th day of March, 1874, at twelve o’clock noon.

1 dun cow, branded DF near ribs, --- on rump, F off rump.

1 red bull calf, progeny of the above cow.

1 white cow, branded like † off side, fore and back, bit near ear, fork off ear.

1 blue and white steer, branded IG near side.

1 red cow, branded JU off rump.

1 strawberry cow, branded JKC near rump, fork on ear.

1 red and white steer, branded J.H (conjoined) off rump, slit off ear.

1 roan cow, branded M off ribs, one horn broken.

Owners unknown, for trespassing on Run No. 94, for which four pounds fourteen shillings damages, and driving expenses are claimed, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the public pound at Lovell’s Flat, on Friday, the 27th day of March, 1874, at 12 o’clock, noon.

One dark brown or black saddle horse, branded like --D off hip, small star on forehead, off hind fetlock white.

Owner unknown; for trespassing on the street in Oamaru, for which no damage is claimed; and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the public Pound at Oamaru, on Friday, the 20th day of March, 1874, at 12 o’clock noon.

WHALING BONUS, £500.

THE Provincial Government will pay £250 by way of Bonus to the first vessel which leaves the Province fully equipped for a whaling cruise; also £250 on her returning to the Province with a cargo of oil: Provided that such vessel is owned in, and hails from, a port within the Province. Vessel not to be under 150 tons. Provided also that she carries at least five boys as apprentices. Bonus will be paid on production of certificate from the Harbor Master that these provisions have been complied with.
