177. Blacks District.
Bounded on the North and West by the Alexandra and Clyde Districts; on the North-west by the Dunstan Range to the head waters of the Lauder Creek; on the North-east by the Lauder Creek to its junction with the Manuherikia River, thence by the Manuherikia River to the Pool Burn junction, thence by the Pool Burn to its junction with the Ada Burn, thence by a line from said junction in a south-east direction to Rough Ridge, and thence along the Rough Ridge to South Ridge Hill.
178. St. Bathans’ District.
Bounded on the West by the Blacks District; on the North-west by the Cromwell District; on the North by an imaginary line from Mount St. Bathans to the Hawkden Mountains, and on the North-east by the watershed of the Hawkden Mountains to Mount Ida; and on the South-east by an imaginary line from Mount Ida along the watershed of the Rough Ridge to the boundary of the Blacks District.
179. Naseby District.
Bounded on the West and North-west by the Blacks and St. Bathans’ Districts; on the North by an imaginary line from Mount Ida due east to KyeBurn Hill; on the East by an imaginary line from KyeBurn Hill running south across the Maerewhenua Pass to Kakanui Mountains, and thence south-east along the watershed of those mountains to the Kakanui Peak; on the South-east by an imaginary line from Kakanui Pass south-westerly to the Tuapeka River; thence to the hill known as Flat Cap, and thence to the South Rough Ridge Hill on the boundary of the Blacks District.
180. Otago Popo District.
Bounded on the North-east and North by the Kakanui District; on the North-west by the Maerewhenua District; on the South-west by the North-eastern boundary of the Macraes District from the Kakanui Peak to Mount Fortune; thence on the South by a right line to the southernmost source of the Waianakarua River, by the southern branch of said river to the sea; and on the East by the sea to north of the Kakanui River.
181. Hampden District.
Bounded on the North and North-west by the Otepopo District; on the South-west by the watershed of the Horse Range from Mount Forte to the Kattigi Beach; and on the South-east and East by the sea to the mouth of the Waianakarua River.
182. Palmerston District.
Bounded on the North-east by the Hampden District; on the West by the Macraes District from Mount Fortune to the Silver Peak Hill; on the South-east by a line drawn from the north-west point of the Silver Peak Hills to Mount Trotter, thence by Trotter Creek to Mount Royal, thence by Stony Creek to the sea; and on the East by the sea to the Kattigi Beach.
183. Hawksbury District.
Bounded on the North-west by the Palmerston District from Stoney Creek to the Silver Peak Hills; thence by the south-eastern boundary of the Macraes District to the junction of the Sutton Stream and the Taieri River; towards the South-west by the Taieri River; towards the South by the North Taieri and Blueskin Districts to the sea; and towards the East by the sea from the Waikouaiti Creek to the mouth of the Shag River. Excepting the Town of West Hawksbury District herein next defined.
184. Town of West Hawksbury District.
Bounded towards the North by the Main North Road, 4100 links; towards the East by the Government Township of Hawksbury, 8000 links; towards the South by land sold to John Jones, 2000 links; and towards the West by the other part of Section 15, Block VI., Hawksbury District aforesaid, 7500 links; by all the said linkages more or less, as the same is delineated in the map of the said Township of West Hawksbury, deposited in the office of the Registrar of Deeds at Dunedin.
185. Maerewhenua District.
Bounded on the West by the Hyde District; on the North-west by the Naseby District; on the North-east by the boundary line of the Otago Gold Fields along the Kakanui Range to Mount Fortune; on the East by the said boundary line of the Otago Gold Fields to the north-west point of the Silver Peak Hills, said point being due west of Waitaki’s Hill; and on the South by an imaginary line running due west from said point on the Silver Peak Hills to Mount Stoker, and thence to the junction of the Sutton Stream with the Taieri River on the boundary of the Hyde District.
186. Hyde District.
Bounded on the West by the Teviot District; on the North-west by the Tuapeka and Naseby Districts; on the East by the Taieri River to the junction of the Sutton Stream therewith; and on the South by the Sutton Stream to its source in the Lammerlaw Ranges, thence by an imaginary line running due west to the Lammerlaw Mountain, on the boundary of the Teviot District.
187. Tuapeka District.
Bounded on the North by the Alexandra District; on the East by a line from South Rough Ridge Hill along the boundary of the Mount Benger Gold Field to Lammerlaw; thence to the head waters of the Tuapeka Burn; on the South by the said burn to the Clutha; on the West by the Clutha River to a point opposite Spylaw, thence by a line due west to Spylaw and along the Spylaw Burn to the junction of the Pomahaka, thence by the Pomahaka River to a point opposite Whitecomb, thence by the Whitecomb Creek to the Waikaia, thence by a line to the Titan Rocks, thence to Rocky Mount, and thence to the Obelisk.
188. Alexandra District.
Bounded on the West by the Clyde District and the road leading to Dunedin across the Rock and Pillar to a point where it crosses the Raggedy Range; on the North-east by an imaginary line from said point to South Rough Ridge Hill; on the South by an imaginary line from South Rough Ridge Hill due west to Cairn Hill, and thence to Obelisk.
189. Clyde District.
Bounded towards the North by an imaginary line from Ben Nevis on the Hector Mountains due East to the Carrick Range, thence to Cairn Muir Hill, thence to the Clutha River; on the North-west by the Leaning Rock Creek and from the head waters thereof to the Leaning Rock; on the North-east by a line from Leaning Rock to the head waters of the Chatto Creek; on the East by Chatto Creek and the Manuherikia River to the Dunedin Road leading across to the Rock and Pillar; on the South by an imaginary line from said road due west to the Clutha River, and thence to McLellan’s Gully, thence by a line due south to the Obelisk.
190. Town of Clyde District.
Bounded by a line proceeding from the North-west corner of Section numbered 1, Block I., leaving Rock Survey District in a south-easterly direction along the boundary of the said Block I.; leaving Rock Survey District 12848 links, thence in a south-westerly direction along the boundary line of the said Block I., leaving Rock Survey District to the Clutha River, thence in a north-westerly direction along the bank of the Clutha River to a point bearing 227 degrees from the North-east corner of Section numbered 1, Block I.; leaving Rock Survey District aforesaid, and thence in a direct line to the starting point.
191. Switzers District.
Bounded on the North-west by the Queenstown District; on the North by the Clyde District; on the East by the Teviot District; and on the South and West by the boundary of the Otago Gold Fields.
192. Lawrence District.
Bounded on the North by the Teviot District; on the North-east by the Hindon District; on the South-east by the Outram and Waipori Districts to the Tokomairiro River; thence along the North-western boundary of the North Tokomairiro Hundred to Lovell’s Creek; on the South-west by Lovell’s Creek to Mount Stuart, thence by an imaginary line running north-west to the Waitahuna River, and thence in the same direction to Crook Burn; on the South by the Crook Burn to its junction with the Tokomairiro River.
