PROCLAMATION.

Setting apart Lands in the Rock and Pillar District for occupation on deferred payments.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by the forty-seventh section of the Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Otago Waste Lands Act 1872,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, from time to time by Proclamation, to be published in the Provincial Gazette, to set apart in any Province, districts or blocks of land, within which licenses to occupy land, and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted: And whereas the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago has recommended the Superintendent of the said Province to set apart the lands specified in the Schedule hereto for alienation on deferred payments.

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council as aforesaid, do hereby, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by “The Otago Waste Lands Act 1872,” and of every other power in this behalf enabling me, proclaim, declare, and set apart all that district or block of land, containing by estimation 2000 acres, more or less, situate in the Rock and Pillar District, being parts of blocks numbered respectively VII and VII, on the map of the said district, specified in the schedule hereto as a district within which licenses to occupy land and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted on and after the 20th day of April, 1874.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement two thousand (2000) acres, more or less, being part of Run No. 205, situate in the Rock and Pillar District: Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the Taieri River, about (10) chains south-east of Trig. A; thence through Trig. A in a northerly direction one thousand seven hundred and fifty-four (1754) links; thence due north to the southern boundary of block III; twenty-two (22) chains; thence due west along the southern boundary of the said block III to the Cap Burn, one hundred and forty-seven (147) chains; thence along the Cap Burn to the Taieri River seventy-nine (79) chains; thence along the Taieri River two hundred and ninety (290) chains to the starting point, be all the aforesaid linkages, a little more or less.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, this thirtieth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the County of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement one thousand four hundred and eighty-two (1482) acres and thirty-nine (39) poles, more or less, comprising part of run numbered 346, situate in Dart district, being sections numbered respectively one (1), two (2), three (3), four (4), five (5), six (6), seven (7), eight (8), nine (9), ten (10), eleven (11), twelve (12), thirteen (13), fourteen (14), fifteen (15), sixteen (16), seventeen (17), eighteen (18), nineteen (19), twenty (20), twenty-one (21), twenty-two (22), twenty-three (23), twenty-four (24), twenty-five (25), twenty-six (26), twenty-seven (27), twenty-eight (28), twenty-nine (29), thirty (30), block two (II), on the map of the said district; bounded towards the north-west by Crown lands, five thousand one hundred and thirty-eight (5138) links; towards the north-east by Crown lands, twenty-nine thousand seventy (29070) links; towards the south by section numbered 31, three thousand eight hundred and fourteen (3814) links; and towards the west and south-west by sections numbered respectively 37, 38, and 39, six thousand four hundred and thirty (6430) links; also by a road line, Crown lands.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, this thirtieth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
