FRIDAY, 5th December, at noon—

Two horses will be sold at Macraes Flat pound.
Two heifers and a cow will be sold at Balclutha pound.

A steer and a heifer will be sold at Isla Bank pound.
A colt will be sold at Oamaru pound.

APPLICATIONS

Applications are invited for the office of Teacher of Port Molyneux School. Salary, £75 per annum with school fees and an excellent residence. Applications, accompanied by testimonials, will be received not later than 31st December, 1873, addressed to the Clerk, School Committee, Port Molyneux.

SEPARATE AUCTIONEERS

Tenders will be received at the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 19th Dec., 1873, for conducting within the various Land Districts in the Province, the Government land sales during 1874. The Government will not be bound to accept the lowest or any tender.

SUPREME COURT CIRCUIT SITTING

Notice is hereby given that a Circuit Court Sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil business will be held in the Court-house, at Lawrence, on Monday, the Eighth day of December next, at the hour of Ten o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances or otherwise to appear as prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

SEASIDE ROAD DISTRICT

Ratepayers in the above-named district are requested to take notice that the highway rate for the current year is now due, and that I will attend at the Brighton Post Office from 10 to 12 a.m. on Friday, the 12th December, 1873, and from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Seaside Hill School-house to receive rates. Proceedings will be taken to recover rates in all cases of non-payment.

Notice.—The assessment for the year 1873-4 has been allowed, and may be inspected at my office by parties interested between the hours of ten and four. All notices of appeal must be lodged at the Town Clerk’s office within ten days from the date of this notice being published.

DISTRICT OF QUEENSTOWN

To the District Officer at Queenstown.

WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a Water Race for the purpose of driving machinery, and for irrigation purposes, commencing at a point on Horne Creek (the main source of the Arrow River) about 200 yards above Michael John Malaghan’s paddock, and terminating at section 10, block XX, Shotover district. The length of such race is about three-quarters of a mile, and its intended course is north and south, and will run through Crown Lands and through private property belonging to us, Robert Markland, Alexander McGillivray, and William McGillivray. The mean depth and breadth of such race is 2 feet by 18 inches, and it is capable of carrying two-sluice heads of water.
