SUPREME COURT CIRCUIT SITTING.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Circuit Court Sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil business will be holden in the Court-house, at Law rence, on Monday, the Eighth day of December next, at the hour of Ten o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances or otherwise to appear as prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

A train will leave Winton on Saturday evenings at 5.15, returning from Invercargill on Monday mornings at 7.

There are no trains on Sunday.

Station for Quarantine appointed.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the “Public Health Act 1872,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by any order notified by Proclamation in the Gazette, appoint certain stations within or near any harbour or place within New Zealand, for the performance of quarantine, under the Third Part of the said Act, where all vessels liable to quarantine, and the crews, passengers, and persons on board thereof, shall perform the same: And whereas it is expedient that the place hereinafter particularly mentioned should be appointed a Quarantine Station for the purposes in the said Act mentioned:

Now therefore, I, Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me for that purpose, do by this Proclamation order and appoint that the place named and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be, and the same is hereby appointed a station for the performance of quarantine, under the Third Part of the “Public Health Act 1872.”

SCHEDULE.

QUARANTINE GROUND, BLUFF HARBOUR.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Province of Otago, being Section 5, Campbelltown Hundred, facing Bluff Harbour, containing 240 acres, more or less, above high water mark: Bounded on the north-west by section 6, 32 chains; on the north-east by the north-east boundary of section 6 aforesaid, continued to the Awarua Bay, 45 chains; on the east, south, and west, by the Bluff Harbour and Awarua Bay, including a small island adjacent, about three miles; and by a line 40 chains below high water mark of said Bluff Harbour and Awarua Bay, together with the water frontage to the said section 5, within half a mile of its shores.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
