Fixing Annual Rate to be charged for Sluice-heads of Water, under "The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of September, 1873.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
Now therefore, His Excellency Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, doth hereby make the following Regulations:—
Regulations.

From and after the making of these Regulations there shall be imposed on the holders of licenses for water races, as hereinafter mentioned, an annual rent of two shillings and sixpence for every sluice-head of water.

These Regulations shall apply and extend to licenses for water races lawfully held, occupied, and used at the date of the passing of "The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," or which may have been issued subsequently thereto, and are now in force respectively; and shall also extend to such licenses as may hereafter be issued under the said Act.

In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, Sir James Fergusson, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings of the District Court of the Otago Gold Fields, during the months of November and December next, shall be held as follows:—
In the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Naseby on the second Wednesday in November next.
In the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Clyde on the Monday next after the second Wednesday in November next.
In the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Queenstown on the Monday second after the second Wednesday in November next.
