NOTICE.—The Kaikorai Road Board intend to collect

a general Rate of 1s in the £ over the whole dis-
trict for the year ending 20th March, 1874. The Rate book
can be seen by the Ratepayers at the Kaikorai
Hotel on and after Thursday, 25th September, for ten
days.

SUPREME COURT

NOTICE is hereby given that a Sitting of the Supreme
Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil busi-
ness, will be held at the Supreme Court House at
Dunedin, on Monday the sixth day of October next, at
the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and
place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as
prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses, are re-
quired to give their attendance.

INCENDIARISM.

MALICIOUSLY SETTING FIRE to an UNOCCUPIED HOUSE.

£50 REWARD

And a Free Pardon to an Accomplice.

WHEREAS, on the night of the 6th instant, an unoc-
cupied house, built of wood and iron, and recently
used as an hotel, situate at Carricktown, Cromwell district,
the property of Charles Colelough, valued at £150, was
destroyed by fire: And whereas at an inquest held on
the 12th instant, at the Star of the West Hotel, Carrickton,
to enquire as to the origin of the said fire, the Jury re-
turned the following verdict: ‘That the said house was
wilfully, maliciously, and feloniously destroyed by fire,
by some person or persons at present unknown to the
jurors.’ Notice is hereby given that a reward of £50
will be paid by the Provincial Government of Otago, to
any person who will give such information as will lead to
the conviction of the person or persons by whom the said
fire was caused, and His Excellency the Governor will
be advised to grant a free pardon to an accomplice, not
being the person who actually caused the fire, as will give
such information as will lead to a like result.

INVERCARGILL, BLUFF & WINTON RAILWAY,

On and after May 1st, 1873, daily trains will run as

Leave Winton for Invercargill at 8.15 a.m.
Invercargill for Bluff at 9.45 a.m.
Bluff for Invercargill at 11.45 a.m.
Invercargill for Bluff at 2 p.m.
Invercargill for Winton at 4 p.m.
Bluff for Invercargill at 4 p.m.

A train will leave Winton on Saturday evenings at
5.15, returning from Invercargill on Monday mornings at
7. There are no trains on Sunday.
