of the Province of Otago.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, the
eleventh day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-three.
Present:
His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent,
George Turnbull,
Horace Bastings,
Grover Murray Webster, and
James Shand, Esquires.
WHEREAS by Proclamation bearing date the 23rd
day of June, 1868, made by the Superintendent
of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said Province, and published
in the Otago Provincial Gazette, No. 553, under the hand
of the said Superintendent of the Province of Otago, and
under the public seal of the said Province, certain Regula-
tions were made for the depasturing of stock upon the
Waste Lands of the Crown within the Otago Gold Field;
And whereas by Proclamation bearing date the 6th day
of Otago, 1868, made as aforesaid, and published in the
Otago Provincial Gazette, No. 572 as aforesaid, the said Regula-
tions of the 23rd day of June, 1868, were altered and
amended: And whereas it is expedient to further amend
the said Regulations so far as they relate to the Dunstan
District.
Now, therefore, His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire,
Superintendent of the said Province of Otago, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Province, doth by virtue and in exercise of the powers
delegated to the Executive Government of the Province
of Otago in that behalf, hereby revoke the Regulations
numbered 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the said Regulations so
made and published on the 23rd day of June 1868, and
Regulation numbered 23 of the said Regulations so made
and published on the 6th day of October, 1868, so far
only as the same apply to the said Dunstan District and
doth make the Regulations following in lieu thereof as
regards the said Dunstan District (that is to say):—
DEPASTURING REGULATIONS.
Otago Gold Field—Dunstan District.

The Mayor and Councillors of the Municipal Corpora-
tion of Clyde, in the said Dunstan district, for the
time being, shall be and are hereby appointed the Board
of Wardens for the said Dunstan district as the same is
described in the Schedule to the said Regulations of the
23rd day of June 1868, and shall have all the powers
conferred on Boards of Wardens by the Depasturing
Regulations of the 23rd day of June and 6th day of
October 1868 respectively. -
The Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Clyde
shall be the Chairman of the Board of Wardens, and
shall have a casting vote in cases of equality. -
The Sheep Inspector at Clyde for the time being
shall be and is hereby appointed the person to carry out
the said Depasturing Regulations in the said Dunstan
district.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields
Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that
Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of
1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases, for gold
mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is here-
by notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold
mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant speci-
fied in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged
with the Warden at St. Bathans, on or before the 29th
day of July, 1873.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may
be seen at the Warden’s Office at St. Bathans.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 15th day
of July, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three.

SCHEDULE.
James Phillips, on behalf of the Go-ahead Company,
for 2 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be
found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of
the applicants, situated at Welshman’s Gully, adjoining
Smart and Co.’s lease.
DURAHANUKI CEMETERY.—His Honor the Super-
intendent has appointed

Mr Henry Andrews,
Mr Arthur Rollins,
Mr John Millar,
Mr Joseph Mawson,
to be Managers of the said Cemetery.
