MILL SITE ON WAIMUMU AND MATAURA RIVERS.

25 ACRES of the Government Reserve at the Mataura Falls on the Southland side of the Mataura will be open for application at the Land Office, Invercargill, on the 23rd day of June next. The land is bounded on the south-east by the Waimumu stream and the road reserve on the Mataura; on the south-west by the lignite reserve; on the north-west by a public road; and on the north-east by a line at right angles to the north-west boundary to include the required area, as the same shall be more particularly described after survey.

WEDNESDAY, 2nd July, 1873.

An application having been made by Messrs Fraser and McLean for a pastoral lease of 5000 acres more or less of country situated between the Manapouri and Monowai Lakes, Waiau west, and bounded towards the north by the Manapouri Lake, towards the east by the bush and the Hunter Mountains, towards the southward by the bush and the Watershed of Monowai Lake, and towards the west by the bush and a range of mountains shown on office maps: Notice is hereby given, that a lease of the said country will be granted to the above applicants unless objections are made to the same before Wednesday, the 2nd day of July next.

NOTICE to Applicants for Unsurveyed Land under the Otago Waste Lands Act 1866.—The Sections in the subjoined schedule being now surveyed, the applicants are informed that the Waste Land Board will give its decision on their applications at this Office on Thursday, the 19th day of June, 1873, at 12.30 o’clock noon; on or before which day, objections to the survey, if any, must be made. In the event of the applications being granted, the purchase money may be paid forthwith.

NOTICE is hereby given to the ratepayers of West Taieri Subdivision, that a meeting will be held in the Drill Shed, Outram, on the 9th June, at 1 p.m., for the purpose of nominating candidates to fill the vacancies in that Subdivision. Henley having disqualified itself, no meeting will be held in that Subdivision.

Flagstaff: at house of Mr Hewitt, Wednesday, 4th June, at 12 o’clock noon. And notice is hereby further given, that in the event of a poll being demanded, some will be held at the above-named places on Thursday, the 12th day of June next, between the hours of 4 a.m. and 1 p.m.

NOTICE.—A meeting of ratepayers entitled to vote at the ensuing election, will be held on Saturday, the 7th June, at 12 noon, to nominate candidates for election to represent the undernamed Subdivisions of the Waipori Road District, as per clause 98, “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871.” Maungatua Subdivision, at the Schoolhouse Maungatua; Donald Grant, Returning officer, Clarendon Subdivision, at the house of N. and A. McBride; James Ritchie, Returning officer. Waihola West Subdivision, at the Toll House; William Cumine, Returning officer.

In the event of a poll being demanded, it will be held in the above places on Thursday, the 12th day of June, 1873, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.
