SCHEDULE.

John Moore, on behalf of the Cumberland Quartz Mining Company, for 16 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated opposite the Ophir reef.


PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases, for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown lands to the applicant specified in the annexed schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before the 20th day of June, 1873.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s office, at Queenstown.

Ah Yong, for 3 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicant, situated at Big Beach, Shotover.

William Guffe, on behalf of the Live and Let Live Company, for one acre of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situate at Mount Buster, adjoining Fogarty’s lease area, and Guffe and Lathams Iron Fluming.


PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Francis Leyden, on behalf of the Golden Mount Gold Mining Co., for six acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at head of left-hand branch of Stoney Creek Shotover.


OTAGO ROADS ORDINANCE, 1871.

Alteration of Polling Places.

WHEREAS by notice and appointment dated the eighteenth day of June, 1872, published in Otago Provincial Gazette, the polling places for the respective districts and subdivisions of districts therein mentioned, under and by virtue of the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” were duly fixed and appointed until the same shall be altered or varied: And whereas it is expedient that the polling places in the districts and subdivisions of districts after-mentioned should be altered:

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby revoke the appointment of the polling places for the districts and subdivisions after-mentioned made by the notice and appointment dated the 18th day of June, 1872, and in lieu thereof do hereby appoint the places after-mentioned to be the polling places for the respective districts and subdivisions of districts after-mentioned at which the poll shall be taken at all elections under the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” held for the same until duly altered or varied, of which notice is hereby given to all concerned:—

District. Polling Place.
Mount Stewart Glenore Subdivision. Mr Ewen Cameron’s barn.
Otepopo Woolshed. Chelsea Subdivision, the Schoolhouse.
Waikouaiti Kakanui. Clevedon Subdivision the house of David Brunton.
Oteramika Old Police Station, Dacre. Cameron’s, Mataura. Schoolhouse, Mair’s Bush.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

PURSUANT to the powers delegated to me in that behalf, and under and by virtue of “The Protection of Animals Act 1867,” “The Protection of Animals Act Amendment Act 1868,” and “The Protection of Animals Act 1872,” I, James Macandrew, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and appoint as the months in which native game may be hunted, shot, taken, and killed within the Province of Otago, excluding the late Province of Southland: And I do further proclaim all that area of land lying between the Waikouaiti River and the Horse Range, within ten miles distance from the sea coast, to be open for the purpose of pheasant shooting during the month of June.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy three.
