OTAGO

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

I, JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Otago in this behalf the "Roads Diversion Ordinance 1872," and of the powers vested in me as Superintendent of the Province of Otago, hereby proclaim and declare that all those roads and all those portions of roads in the Province of Otago, mentioned and referred to in the said "Roads Diversion Ordinance 1872," and particularly described in the Schedule hereto, shall from and after the day of the date hereof, cease to be public roads or thoroughfares, and shall no longer form part of the public roads in the several Road Districts in the Province of Otago, mentioned in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed.

23. Lawrence

(1.) All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 0a 1r 34p more or less being a road line situate in the Township of Lawrence : bounded towards the north by section 18 block VIII and block LI four hundred and thirty-six (436) links towards the north-east by Harrington street one hundred and twenty and eight tenths (120.8) links towards the south by the Hospital Reserve five hundred (500) links and towards the west by Whitehaven street one hundred (100) links.

(2.) All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 0a 1r 27p more or less being a road line situate in the Township of Lawrence : bounded towards the west by the Hospital Reserve five hundred (500) links towards the north-east by Harrington street one hundred and eighty-nine and two-tenths (189.2) links towards the east by block LII three hundred and forty-one and six-tenths (341.6) links and towards the south by Harrington street one hundred (100) links.

(4.) All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 2a more or less being a road line situate in the Township of Lawrence : bounded towards the west by sections numbered 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 and 1 block XVIII and 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 and 1 block XV two thousand (2000) links towards the north by Stranraer street one hundred (100) links towards the east by sections numbered 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 block XIV and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 block XIX (2000) links and towards the south by Thurso street one hundred (100) links.

24. Roslyn Road District.

(1.) All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 2a 0r 17p more or less being a road line situate in the Upper Kaikorai Survey District: bounded towards the north-west by sections numbered 10 11 and part 12 13 14 15 and part 16 block IV, three thousand five hundred (3500) links more or less and towards the south-east by sections numbered 9 8 7 and part 6 7 5 4 3 and part of 2 block IV three thousand five hundred and forty (3540) links more or less.

PROCLAMATION

Of new Wards in the Municipality of Cromwell.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, and passed in the thirtieth year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinances Amendment Ordinance 1866," it is amongst other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Otago with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province from time to time to increase or diminish the number of wards, and to name or alter the name and boundaries of any or every ward of any municipality : And whereas the Municipal Corporation of the Town of Cromwell is desirous of having the number of wards in the said Municipality increased by dividing Kawarau ward :

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the said Province, with the advice of my Executive Council, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the ward of the said Municipality of Cromwell heretofore known as Kawarau ward shall be divided into two separate wards, to be known respectively as Kawarau ward and Macandrew ward, the boundaries whereof shall be as follow :

  1. Kawarau Ward shall comprise all that area bounded towards the north-east by the town boundary towards the south-east by the town boundary and Bridge ward towards the south-west by the Kawarau river and towards the north-west by a straight line commencing at a point in the Kawarau river and extending along the boundary line between sections 9 and 10 and 33 and 32 block V thence across Inniscort street and along the boundary line between sections 3 and 4 and 17 and 18 block V thence across Donegal street to the centre of a street line thence in a direction along the centre of that street line to the town boundary.

  2. Macandrew Ward shall comprise all that area bounded towards the north-east by the town boundary towards the south-east by the Kawarau ward and the town
