Hawksbury Hundred.

1st. The Waihola Hundred is capable of depasturing 850 head of great cattle or 4250 sheep.

2nd. Each license-holder may depasture ten great cattle or 50 sheep for every hundred acres occupied or owned within the Hundred, exclusive of those he may depasture free under the 106th section of the Act.

Bye-Law.

1st. Any person disturbing or harassing cattle, great or small, depastured within the Hundred shall be liable to a penalty of £5, to be recovered in a summary way; provided always that any person holding a license to depasture cattle within the Hundred, or any person duly authorised by him, may drive cattle so depastured for the purpose of collecting such of them as may belong to him and for the legitimate use of the right to pasture within the Hundred; but in case it should be necessary for such purpose to drive any cattle belonging to any other person a greater distance than one mile, the person so driving such cattle must take them to the nearest stockyard, and there separate his own cattle from those of other persons, and return the latter to the place from whence they were driven.

Waikouaiti Hundred.

1st. The number of cattle which the Hundred is capable of depasturing, is computed at 661 great cattle, or 3255 sheep, exclusive of the number which may be depastured free.

2nd. Each license holder may depasture one head of great cattle, or five sheep, for every ten acres of enclosed land, and one head of great cattle, or five sheep, for every ten acres of unenclosed land owned or occupied by him within the Hundred, exclusive of those which he is entitled to depasture free.

3rd. The portion of land set apart for depasturing small cattle, shall be that part of the Hundred bounded on the north by a line due west from Trig Station T to the Waikouaiti River, on the west by the Waikouaiti River, on the east by the mountain track, and on the south by the southern boundary of the hundred.

4th. Great cattle may be depastured on the remainder of the Hundred.

Bye-Law.

1st. Any person illegally driving or harassing cattle depasturing within the Hundred, shall, on conviction, forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding five pounds.

West Taieri Hundred.

Estimated to carry 454 great cattle or 2270 small cattle.

Sheep may be depastured on that portion of the Hundred lying on the south side of Waipori river and the stream known as “the Mill creek.” Great cattle may be depastured on the remainder of the Hundred.

The number of stock which may be depastured by each license-holder within the Hundred, as (exclusive of those entitled to depasture free) is as follows:

North Tokomairiro Hundred.

1st. The North Tokomairiro Hundred is capable of depasturing 425 great cattle, or 2125 sheep.

2nd. Each license-holder may depasture 10 head of great cattle or 50 sheep for every hundred acres occupied or owned within the Hundred.

Bye-Law.

1st. Wairuna Hundred.

1st. The number of cattle which the Hundred is capable of depasturing is computed to be 525 great cattle.

2nd. Each license holder shall be at liberty to depasture on the unsold land within the Hundred, one head of great cattle, or five sheep, for every twenty acres of land, owned or occupied by him within the Hundred, exclusive of those allowed to be depastured free.

Tuturau Hundred.

1st. The Tuturau Hundred is capable of depasturing 2430 great cattle, or 12150 sheep.

2nd. Each license holder shall be entitled to depasture two head of great cattle, or ten sheep, for every ten acres of land, owned or occupied by him within the Hundred, exclusive of those which he is entitled to depasture free.

3rd. All assessments shall be paid upon the last Saturday in June next, between the hours of one o’clock and five o’clock p.m., at the Tuturau School House.

4th. No sheep shall be depastured within the Hundred excepting on the ground now set apart.
