MEETING OF THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
PROCLAMATION
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, I do hereby fix and proclaim that the Thirty-First Session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, shall be holden within the Provincial Council Hall, Dunedin, in the said Province, and shall commence upon Tuesday, the ninth day of May, 1873, at 12 o’clock noon and that the members of the said Council are hereby required to give their attendance at such time and place accordingly.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the said Province, this twenty-second day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

PROCLAMATION
Appointing a certain Road in the Oreti Road District to be a Main District Road.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” it is provided that upon the application of the Road Board of any road district, the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads, whether within or upon the boundary of such district, shall be main roads or main district roads: And whereas the Road Board for the Oreti road district have applied to me, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint the road hereinafter described to be a main district road:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf vested in me by the said “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” do hereby appoint the following road, situate within or upon the boundary of the Oreti road district aforesaid, to be a main district road (that is to say):—
The Waiani road, commencing at the Otautau township, and extending through Blocks II, III, and IV, Aparima Hundred to Scott’s Gap; thence through the said Gap by the surveyed road crossing the Orawia river at the bridge thereon; thence on the Waiau; then up the said lines, by the surveyed road, to the Waiau river.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

Appointing certain Roads in the Makarewa Road District to be Main District Roads.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” it is provided that upon the application of the Road Board of any road district, the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads, whether within or upon the boundary of such district, shall be main roads or main district roads: And whereas the Road Board for the Makarewa road district have applied to me, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint the roads hereinafter described to be main district roads:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf vested in me by the said “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” do hereby appoint the following roads, situate within or upon the boundary of the Makarewa Road District aforesaid, to be main district roads:
That is to say—

The Fern Bush Road, commencing at the Oreti river, and running due east to the Forest hill, forming the boundary line between the New river and Winton hundreds.

The Road commencing at the Oreti river, and running due east from the S.W. corner of section 53, block VIII, New river hundred, and terminating at the S.E. corner of section 1, block VIII, of the said hundred.

The Road, commencing at the Railway line, section 18, block I, New river hundred, and running due west to the Main North road.

The Road, commencing on the Main North road, at the N.E. corner of section 8, block I, New River hundred, and running west to the Oreti River.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
