PROCLAMATION

Appointing certain Roads in the Invercargill Road District to be Main District Roads.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” it is provided that upon the application of the Road Board of any road district the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads, whether within or upon the boundary of such district, shall be main roads or main district roads: And whereas the Road Board for the Invercargill road district have applied to me, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint the roads hereinafter described to be main district roads:

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf vested in me by the said “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” do hereby appoint the following roads, situate within or upon the boundary of the Invercargill Road District aforesaid, to be main district roads, that is to say:—

1st. A road bearing due north through Block I, Invercargill Hundred, commencing at the south-east corner of section 9, block III, and extending along the eastern boundary of block III aforesaid; thence along the eastern boundary of the Invercargill town and Park reserves; and thence along the eastern boundary of section 26, block I, to the Waihopai river.

2nd. A road bearing north-north-west between blocks I and II, Invercargill Hundred, from the south-west angle of section 44, block II; thence along the south-west boundaries of the same section, of subsection 3 of 45, and of the cemetery reserve; across the main Dunedin road; and thence along the south-west boundaries of sections 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1, block II, to the Waihopai river.

3rd. A road also bearing north-north-west through block II, Invercargill Hundred, from its junction with the main Dunedin road at the south-west angle of section 22, thence along the south-west boundary of that section, and along the like boundary of section 18 to the Waihopai river.

4th. A road bearing due east and north-east through blocks I and II, Invercargill Hundred, from the road on the eastern boundary of the Invercargill recreation reserve, at the south-east angle of section 8, block I, Invercargill Hundred; thence along the south boundaries of sections 8 to 13, block I, and along the south-east boundaries of sections 44 to 57, block II, to the eastern boundary of the Invercargill Road District.

5th. A road bearing south-eastwardly through blocks II, III, and VI, Campbelltown Hundred, from the north-east angle of section 14, block VI; thence along the north-east boundary of that section, across the main road to Campbelltown; thence along the north-east boundaries of sections 4 and 9, block II; thence crossing section 1 and along the western boundaries of sections 2, 3, 4 and 5, block III, to the road forming the southern boundary of block III aforesaid.

6th. A road extending from the south-east boundary of Campbelltown, contiguous to Trig. Station W, along the high-watermark to the pilot station; the same forming the north-east boundaries of sections 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 1, and of the pilot station reserve, block I, Campbelltown Hundred.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

PROVINCIAL COMPULSORY LAND TAKING ACT 1866.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended to introduce a Bill into the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, at its next Session, authorising the Superintendent of the Province of Otago to take compulsorily for the purpose of completing a road in the Walton Road District, parts of sections numbered respectively forty-nine and fifty (49 and 50), block seven (7), Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, of the Province of Otago aforesaid; also for the purpose of completing a road in the Portobello Road District, part of section numbered twenty-eight (28) block five (5), Portobello Survey District, of the Province of Otago aforesaid; also for the purpose of completing a road in the Portobello Road District, part of section numbered twenty-two (22), block five (5), of the Portobello Survey District, of the Province of Otago aforesaid; also for the purpose of completing a road in the Port Molyneux Road District, parts of sections numbered respectively eleven (11) and twelve (12), block two (2), South Molyneux Survey District, of the Province of Otago aforesaid; also, for the purpose of completing a road in the Port Molyneux Road District, part of section numbered fifteen (15), block two (2), Glenomaru Survey District, of the Province of Otago aforesaid; and for the purpose of completing a road in the Motupipi Road District, parts of sections numbered respectively five (5) and six (6), block thirty (30), Waihola Survey District, of the said Province of Otago; and also for the purpose of completing a road in the Caversham Road District, part of sections numbered respectively thirteen (13) and fourteen (14), block seven (7) Town District of the said Province
