WANTED, a Second Master for the Kaikorai District School.

Salary—Government subsidy with school fees, subject to a slight deduction. Average attendance of pupils, probable income, £200 per annum. TEACHER wanted for the Waihola Gorge School.

Salary: Government Subsidy and School Fees. One who can teach singing preferred. Applications to be sent to the Committee, not later than February 25th, to commence duties on March 25th.


WANTED, a competent Teacher for the new School at Pukeuri, distant six miles from Oamaru.

Over 50 children supposed to attend. Salary: Government Grant and School Fees, and nearly 5 acres of Glebe, on which a comfortable residence is about to be erected. Applications with testimonials, to be forwarded on or before the 12th day of April, 1873, and addressed to the Clerk, Pukeuri School Committee, Oamaru. FEMALE Teacher wanted for the North School, Oamaru.

PUBLICANS’ LICENSES.

THE Quarterly-Meeting for granting Licenses, &c., will be held in the various Licensing Courts within the Province on noon on Tuesday, 4th March, 1873. Applications, &c., respecting business must be made to the respective Clerks of Court at least 14 clear days before such meeting.


EDUCATION RESERVES, SOUTHLAND.

APPLICATIONS will be received by Mr. John H. Baker, Survey Office, Invercargill, from persons wishing to lease any of the Reserves as formerly advertised. Copies of the Otago Regulations and conditions for the Leasing of Education Reserves, can be obtained from Mr. Baker, Invercargill.


REGISTRATION Forms may be had gratis from the Registration Offices throughout the Province, and also from the Government Storekeeper, Dunedin.


WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

ON and after the 17th February next, the 8000 acres reserved from sale by order of the Superintendent of Southland, on the 12th October, 1869, will be open for sale. The area and situation of the land are as follows:

  • 1210 acres on Run 165
  • 1670 acres on Run 156a2, Wairau District.
  • 4800 acres on Run 156A2
  • 520 acres on Run 143 ... Wairio District.

RUNS FOR SALE.

Mr. Milner will offer for sale by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, pastoral leases for 10 years of the following Runs:

  • Run No. 333, situated on the Wanaka Lake, contains 100,000 acres, 90,000 acres of which are high sheep country, and about 10,000 acres of shingly and swampy country, suitable for cattle.

The rental will be an assessment of 7d per head on not less than 10,000 sheep, and 500 great cattle. The lease will commence on the 26th February, 1874, from which date to the 1st October ensuing the first assessment will be charged.

  • Run No. 335B, situated on the east shore of Lake Hawea, north of Timaru river, contains 9000 acres, 500 of which are agricultural land.

The rental will be an assessment of 7d per head on 3000 sheep. The lease will commence on the 26th February, 1874, from which date to the 1st October ensuing the first assessment will be charged.

  • Run No. 444, situated west of and adjoining Run 333, and Motatapa river, contains 5500 acres of high country. The rental will be an assessment of 7d per head on 1000 sheep.

Lease to commence on 3rd March, 1873, when an assessment from that date to the 1st October, 1873, will be payable.

The leases will be in terms of the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1872.” The upset premium in each case will be one halfpenny per acre of the estimated area of the run, a deposit of one-tenth part of the premium and of the first rent will be payable on the fall of the hammer; balance of the premium within a month, and the balance of the assessment on the date of the commencement of each lease. The assessment will be payable after the first year on the 1st of October in each year.

The runs will be leased for a period of ten years, terminable during that time, without compensation, by the lessor giving twelve months’ notice. The agricultural land on the plans to be seen at this office to be resumable at any time without notice or compensation.

Is hereby given that Sections 6 and 7, Block III, Wyndham district, containing respectively 100 acres each, will be offered for sale by public auction at the Royal Mail Hotel, Popotunoa, on Thursday, the 13th day of March next, at noon, at the upset price of £1 per acre.

NOTICE is hereby given that Block LI, Dunedin, containing 27 poles, will be offered for sale by public auction at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 13th day of March next, at noon, at the upset price of £200.


NOTICE is hereby given that section 2 of 63, block V, Moeraki District, containing 38a 2r 28p, section 1 of 44, block VII, Hawksbury district, containing 33a, and section 1 of block II, Waikouaiti district, containing 75a 1r 29p, will be offered for sale by public auction at the Court House, Hawksbury, on Thursday, the 20th day of March next, at noon, at the upset price of 10s per acre.

Immediately thereafter, sections 71, 72, 73, 74, and 75, block V, Hawksbury district, will be offered as land of special value at the upset price of £2 per acre.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above land, numbered sections 1 to 39, 52 to 58, 65 to 70, 78, 80, 81, block III, Glenkenich District, will be open for application at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 20th day of March next, at £1 per acre.
