MUNICIPALITY OF LAWRENCE.

BYE-LAW of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Lawrence, proposed to be made under Part XIII of “Municipal Corporations Act 1867.”

  1. In pursuance of section 181, Part XIII, of “The Municipal Corporations Act 1867,” the Council of the Incorporated Town of Lawrence ordain as follows:—

The whole of Parts I, II, VII, VIII, and IX, and Subdivisions 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Part X, and Part XI of the Thirteenth Schedule to the said Act are hereby adopted in and for the said Incorporated Town of Lawrence.

  1. The following Bye-Laws heretofore existing are repealed; that is to say, the whole of the existing Bye-Laws numbered from 1 to 9 inclusive.

OTAGO DOCK TRUST.

The Trustees of the Otago Graving Dock invite tenders for Mortgage Bonds to the amount of £10,000 (in £100 Bonds), to be issued under the authority of “The Otago Dock Debt Trust Act 1872.” Tenders will be received till noon on Thursday, February 20th, 1873, and may be for the whole or a portion of the sum, but the Trustees do not bind themselves to accept the highest or any tender.

These Bonds will have a currency of thirty years from the date of issue; will bear interest at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum, and interest and principal will be made payable in Dunedin, or in London, Melbourne, or Sydney, at the option of the purchasers. After 1st November, 1878, they will form a first charge on the property and income of the Trust.

Of the first issue of bonds £36,200 have been deemed by the Colonial Treasurer in accordance with terms of “Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act 1870.” For the remaining liability under that issue the funds have been raised under that Act, and are in the hands of the Colonial Treasurer. The liability of the Trust in respect of these bonds is therefore only nominal.

Further information and copies of the Act may be obtained from the chairman (R. B. Martin), or from the undersigned, at the office of the Trustees, Temple Chambers, Princes street, Dunedin.

DISEASED STOCK ACT 1872 (VICTORIA), AND REGULATIONS THEREUNDER.

The following copy of an Act, and of certain Regulations published thereunder, for the Prevention of Diseases in Stock, which have been received from the Government of Victoria, are published for general information, and the attention of stockowners and others interested in the exportation of stock to the Colony of Victoria is particularly directed to the subject.

AN ACT FOR THE PREVENTION OF DISEASES IN STOCK.

[17th December, 1872.]

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Victoria, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows (that is to say):—

  1. This Act shall be called and may be cited as “The Diseases in Stock Act 1872.”

  2. Part III of “The Prevention of Diseases of Animals Statute 1864,” and “The Prevention of Diseases of Animals Statute 1872,” No. 418, are hereby repealed.

  3. In the construction of this Act, the following words shall, if not inconsistent with the context or subject matter, have the meanings hereby respectively assigned to them (that is to say):

“Inspector of Stock” shall include the Chief Inspector of Stock.
