TENDERS

Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 14th January, 1873, for

Contract No. 701—Gravelling 30 chains of road between Roxburgh and Coal Creek, on road, Tiviot to Alexandra.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Roxburgh.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for contract No. 701."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

  2. Jacob’s River Road District.—Plans to be seen at Schoolhouse, Gummies Bush.

TENDERS

Contract No. 698—Construction and delivery of 21 railway goods wagons on the Bluff and Invercargill railway.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for contract No. 698."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

PAYMENT TO BE MADE IN LAND OR CASH AT OPTION OF THE GOVERNMENT.

Tenders will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Thursday, 9th January, 1873, for

Contract No. 697—Construction of timber bridge over the Mataura River, near Menzies Ferry.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Pollock’s Accommodation House, Mataura Bridge, and after the 27th instant, at the railway office, Invercargill.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for contract No. 697."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Tenders will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 7th January, 1873, for

Contract No. 700—Erection of Stone Culvert over the Kakanui Mill Race.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Oamaru.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for contract No. 700."

Tenders to be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Tuesday, 14th January, 1873, for

Contract No. 702—Construction of 59 chains of road through Mr. A. Green’s property, block III, Akatore.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at the residence of Mr. Green, Akatore.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for contract No. 702."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS

Tenders are invited by the Blueskin Road Board for certain Road Works, being the expenditure of about £200. Intending Contractors by meeting about one mile above Port Chalmers, on the Port Chalmers and Blueskin road, at one p.m. on Monday, the 13th January, will be shown the work and specifications.

Tenders to be numbered as per section, and delivered to the undersigned on or before the 14th January. The lowest or any tender not to be necessarily accepted.

TEACHERS

An Examination of teachers and candidates for employment in the District Schools will be held at the Education Office, Dunedin, on Thursday and Friday, the 9th and 10th of January, 1873, at 9.30 a.m. Candidates are requested to give notice of their intention to attend, not later than January 4th, 1873.

The notice must be accompanied by a list of the subjects in which the candidate is prepared to be examined. Printed copies of the Education Board’s Regulations for the examination and classification of teachers may be had on application.

WANTED

A Teacher for the Taieri Beach Side School. Salary—Government allowance and school fees. Applications and testimonials to be lodged with the Clerk on or before 29th January, 1873.

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT QUARTZ CRUSHING MACHINE

Rattray street Jetty, Dunedin.—Parties desirous of having quartz tested are informed that they can do so at the Government Battery. Charges and conditions as follows: One ton or less, 20s; one ton and not exceeding two tons, 1s per cwt.; two tons up to ten tons at the rate of 15s per ton. Payment to be made previous to commencing crushing; the party to send a representative to feed and assist during crushing.
