TENDERS Wanted by the Corstorphine Sub-Division Road Board for repairs and other works on the District Roads. Messrs. Thomson, M’Laren and Scott will meet intending contractors on Wednesday, the 18th inst., at Mr. Sidey’s gate at 12 o’clock noon. Tenders to be lodged with either Messrs. Thomson, M’Laren or Scott, on or before the 23rd current. The lowest or any Tender not necessarily accepted.

CORSTORPHINE sub-Division of the Suburban Road District.—Tenders invited for the supply of 300 yards of Metal, broken to two and a-half inch gauge; also 60 yards, broken to three-inch gauge. Tenders to be lodged with Mr James Scott and Mr Peter M’Laren, on or before the 31st instant. TIME EXTENDED.

TENDERS are invited by the Waipori Road Board for filling up approach to Waipori Bridge, also for cutting at Petrie’s Hill. Tenders to be addressed to the Chairman of the Board, not later than noon of Saturday, 21st inst.—DAVID GRANT, Surveyor to the Board.

ROSLYN Road District.—Tenders are invited for Works to be executed on Waverley and King streets. The hon. Inspectors will attend at the head of Waverley street, on Saturday, December 21st, to give information to intending tenderers. Tenders addressed to A. H. Ross, Chairman of the Roslyn Road Board, to be sent in on or before Friday, January 3rd, 1873.

SURVEYOR Wanted for Aparima and Waiau District. Applications will be received at the Secretary for Works Office, Dunedin, until noon, of 3rd January, 1873.

SCHOOLMISTRESS WANTED.—Wanted, a certificated teacher for the South Dunedin School. Probable salary, £150 per annum. Applications to be sent to the undersigned on or before the 24th December, 1872.—HY. F. HARDY, Secretary to the Dunedin School Committee.

TEACHER Wanted for Merton Side School. Salary £75, and with School fees, house, and garden. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned on or before Monday, 23rd December.—D. BRUNTON, Secretary, Merton, December 10th, 1872.

TO TEACHERS.—An Examination of Teachers and Candidates for employment in the District Schools, will be held at the Education Office, Dunedin, on Thursday and Friday, the 9th and 10th of January, 1873, at 9.30 a.m. Candidates are requested to give me notice of their intention to attend, not later than January 4th, 1873. The notice must be accompanied by a list of the subjects in which the candidate is prepared to be examined. Printed copies of the Education Board’s Regulations for the Examination and Classification of teachers may be had on application.

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT QUARTZ CRUSHING MACHINE, Rattray-street Jetty, Dunedin.—Parties desirous of having quartz tested are informed that they can do so at the Government Battery. Charges and conditions as follows: One ton or less, 20s; one ton and not exceeding two tons, 1s per cwt; two tons up to 10 tons at the rate of 15s per ton. Payment to be made previous to commencing crushing. The party to send a representative to feed and assist during crushing.—T. E. DENNEY, Manager. 23rd November, 1872.

AUCTIONEERS’ LICENSES.—A Meeting for taking into consideration the following application for an Auctioneers’ License, will be held in the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, at noon on Thursday, 2nd January, 1873.

EDUCATION MEETINGS

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Annual Statutory Meeting of the Owners and Occupiers of Land and Householders in each Educational District, for the Election of a new School Committee, and for the other purposes specified by Ordinance, will be held upon Monday, the 13th day of January, 1873, at seven o’clock p.m., at the following mentioned places respectively, viz.:

At Dunedin, in the Middle District School-house, between York place and Dowling street.

At Tokomairiro, in the Main District School-house, Milton.

And in the respective School-houses, or buildings used as School-houses, in the following mentioned districts, viz.: Port Chalmers, Portobello, North East Harbour, Anderson’s Bay, North East Valley, Wakari, Kaikorai, Mornington, Caversham, Green Island, East Taieri, Saddle Hill, North Taieri, Lake Waipori, Waihola Balclutha, Warepa, Kaihiku, Blueskin, Waikouaiti, Hampden, Otepopo, Oamaru, Lawrence, Queenstown, Waihola Gorge, West Taieri, Maungatua, Clyde, Alexandra, Naseby (Mount Ida), Palmerston, Waitahuna, Port Molyneux, Pleasant River, Arrowtown, Cromwell, East Clutha, Waitepeka, Inch Clutha, Kaitangata, Switzers, Teviot, Waipori, Invercargill, Long Bush, Wallace Town, Campbell Town, Woodlands, Waiwera, Flint’s Bush, Myross Bush, Winton, Gummie’s Bush, One Tree Point, Riverton, and Waikivi.

The householders, in the following mentioned localities respectively, in which Side Schools have been established or authorised, are advised to meet in the School-houses or buildings used as School-houses, of their respective districts on the aforesaid Monday, the 13th day of January, 1873, at 7 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of electing School Committees for the ensuing year, viz.:
