✨ Public Health and Pound Notices

[Republished from Gazette of Nov. 20, 1872, in consequence of the name and description of the Pound having been omitted in that Gazette.]

AREA in the Province of Otago aforesaid containing by admeasurement three hundred and thirty acres more or less being part of section fifty block V North Harbor and Blueskin district bounded towards the north-west by a road line four thousand six hundred and fifty (4650) links towards the west by a road line and part of section forty-nine same block nine hundred (900) links thence towards the north and north-west by a trackroad line six thousand two hundred (6200) links towards the north-east by Otago Harbor three thousand (3000) links towards the south-east by Otago Harbor five thousand seven hundred (5700) links and towards the south by Otago Harbor seven thousand five hundred links to be a lazaret where the crews passengers and other persons and things which shall or may be on board any vessel liable to quarantine may be detained and kept for the performance of quarantine under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Of the Establishment of a Pound known as Isla Bank Pound.

NOTICE is hereby given that by virtue of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance 1872” I have established a Pound known as Isla Bank Pound, situate on part of Section 11, block 14, Jacob’s River Hundred, Aparima Road District, and that I have appointed

Mr William Anderson Lyon,
of Jacob’s River, in the Province of Otago, settler, to be keeper of the said Pound.
