MEETING OF THE CENTRAL BOARD OF HEALTH FOR THE PROVINCE OF OTAGO.
PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf I do hereby fix and proclaim that the first meeting of the Central Board of Health for the Province of Otago shall be holden within the Provincial Government Buildings in Dunedin in the said Province on Friday, the 13th day of December current at two o’clock afternoon.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago at Dunedin this eleventh day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, the tenth day of December, 1872.
Present:
His HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT;
WILLIAM ALEXANDER TOLMIE;
GEORGE TURNBULL;
HORACE BASTINGS; and
HUGH McDERMID, Esquires.
WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of “The Public Health Act 1872” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time make such orders or regulations as shall be deemed expedient upon any unforeseen emergency or in particular cases with respect to any vessel arriving and having any infectious or contagious disease on board and also with respect to the persons and things on board the same: And whereas by the forty-sixth section of the said Act it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time as he thinks fit order that any or all of the powers, functions, duties, authorities or acts vested in, conferred on or authorised or required to be performed by the Governor within any Province, district, port or place in the Colony by or under the fifty-third and seventy-seventh sections of the said Act shall be exercised, performed or done by the Superintendent of such Province with the advice of the Executive Council of such Province: And whereas circumstances of emergency have arisen within the Province of Otago rendering it desirable that the piece or parcel of land hereinafter described should be constituted a lazaret within the meaning of the fifty-fifth section of the said Act: And whereas the Governor hath with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand delegated to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago aforesaid all the powers, functions, duties, authorities and acts vested in, conferred on or authorised or required to be performed by the Governor within the said Province of Otago by or under the said fifty-third and seventy-seventh sections of the said Act to be exercised, performed and done by the said Superintendent with the advice of the Executive Council of the Province of Otago aforesaid.
Now therefore His Honor James Macandrew Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Province, doth hereby by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in him in this behalf appoint all that
