Contract No. 697.—Construction of Timber Bridge over the Mataura River, near Menzies Ferry.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Pollock’s Accommodation House, Mataura Bridge.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for Contract No. 697."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

KURIBUSH District Road Board.—Tenders will be received up to 12 o’clock on Friday, 20th December, for the office of clerk and collector (security required), to be addressed Chairman, Kuribush Road Board, Otakia: The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—DAVID KIRBY, 9th Dec., 1872.

Tenders to be addressed to the Chairman of the Board on or before, noon of Saturday, the 14th inst.—DAVID GRANT, Surveyor to the Board.

EDUCATION BOARD MEETING is postponed until noon of Friday, the 13th December, 1872, in consequence of Thursday next being the Presbyterian Fast Day.

WANTED, a Schoolmistress for the Waikouaiti School. Salary £85 per annum. Applications, with testimonials, will be received by the undersigned up to Monday, the 23rd December, 1872.—J. SMITH, Chairman of Committee.

APPLICATIONS are invited for the office of Second Master for the Invercargill Grammar School about to be established. Salary not less than £200 per annum. The successful applicant will be expected to be in Invercargill to commence his duties after the Christmas vacation. Applications must be received not later than 21st December, 1872, and be accompanied by testimonials and references, to be addressed to the "Chairman, Invercargill School Committee, Invercargill, New Zealand."

SCHOOL-MISTRESS WANTED.—Wanted, a certificated teacher for the South Dunedin School, salary, £150 per annum. Applications to be sent to the undersigned on or before the 24th of December, 1872.—HY. F. HARDY, Secretary to the Dunedin School Committee.

WANTED, a competent Teacher, on the 1st Jan., 1873, for the New School, Pukeuri, distant six miles from Oamaru; over 50 children supposed to be able attend. Salary: Government Grant and School Fees, and nearly five acres of glebe, on which a comfortable residence is about to be erected. Applications, with testimonials, to be forwarded on or before 17th December, and addressed to the Clerk, Pukeuri School Committee, Oamaru. For further information, apply at the Education Office, or to Mr. G. A. Goodall, Oamaru.

MASTER wanted for Mount Ida District School. Salary: Government Subsidy, £100, and proportion of School Fees, worth at least £100 more, but will probably increase. Residence and garden. Engagement to commence on 1st April, 1873. Applications, with testimonials, to be sent not later than 20th December, 1872, to JAMES STEWART, Clerk, Naseby.

KURIBUSH District Road Board.—Tenders will be received up to 12 o’clock on Friday, 20th December, for re-forming about 150 chains of road from Main South Road, Otakia, to Jenkins’ Hill; also about 2 chains of stone drain, 3 chains of cutting, and 2 culverts, &c. ; to be addressed Chairman, Kuribush District Road Board, Otakia Post Office. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—DAVID KIRBY, 9th December, 1872.

TENDERS Wanted by the Corstorphine Sub-division Road Board for repairs and other works on the District Roads. Messrs. Thomson, M’Laren and Scott will meet intending contractors on Wednesday, the 18th inst., at Mr. Sidey’s gate at 12 o’clock noon. Tenders to be lodged with either Messrs. Thomson, M’Laren or Scott, on or before the 23rd current. The lowest or any Tender not necessarily accepted.

TO Contractors.—Fresh Tenders are invited by the Outram Road Board for cutting a drain between blocks V and VI, Maungatua District. Plans and specifications may be seen at Mr. Stevenson’s, Taieri Village.

WANTED, a Teacher for the Lake Waipori Side School. Salary: Government Subsidy and School Fees, with excellent four-roomed house and well-stocked garden. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged with the Chairman on or before 20th December, 1872.

WANTED, a Teacher for the Outram Side School. Salary: Government allowance and School Fees. Applications and testimonials to be sent in to the undersigned on or before December 20th, 1872. P. M. GRANT, Secretary.
