IMMIGRANTS’ PASSAGE-MONEY.—Notice to Assisted Immigrants who arrived in the Province before the year 1869.

All immigrants who have arrived in the Province by ships prior to those referred to in the notice hereunder, and who have not paid their passage-money, are requested to do so at once by remitting same to me. Proceedings will be taken to recover in all cases of non-payment. When necessary the time for payment will be extended.—JOHN LOGAN, Immigration Agent.

IMMIGRATION MONEY.—Assisted Immigrants by the ships which arrived during 1869, 1870, and 1871, are requested to forward to John Logan, Immigration Agent, Dunedin, the amount of their Passage Money. Proceedings will be taken to recover all cases of non-payment without further notice.

NOTICE.—Ratepayers of Harlington, Signal Hill, and Pine Hill subdivisions of North-east valley road district, are hereby notified that the highway rate for the current year is now payable. The collector will attend at the N.E. Valley Schoolhouse on Friday, the 6th December from 4 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, the 7th December, from 12 to 4 p.m.—H. M’FADYEN, Clerk to the Board.

NOTICE.—Palmerston District Road Board have decided to levy the following special Highway Rate, viz.—Bushey subdivision, one shilling in the pound; Blue Mountain subdivision, tenpence in the pound; Goodwood subdivision, sixpence in the pound; and Meadowbank subdivision, threepence in the pound for the current year. Notice is hereby given that all objections must be lodged with the clerk before the 18th day of December, on which day at 2 o’clock, the Board will meet at the North-Western Hotel to hear such objections (if any).—JOHN KEEN, Clerk to the Board. NOTICE.—The Waipori Road Board, having decided to levy a General Rate of 6d in the £ on all rateable property within the district, Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the Board will be held at Waipori Schoolhouse at 12 o’clock noon on Saturday, the 14th December next, to hear objections, if any, to proposed rate.—JAMES SIM, Clerk to the Board.

AUCTIONEERS’ LICENSES, 1873.—In accordance with Section 3 of the “Licensed Auctioneers’ Ordinance 1862,” the annual meeting for taking into consideration applications for Auctioneers’ Licenses will be held in the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, at noon of Thursday, 19th December, 1872, when the following applications will be considered. Applicants are not required to be present at the meeting, unless they are specially requested.

NOTICE.—RICHTON Road District.—Notice.—Ratepayers in the above-named district are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me at my house on or before the 16th day of December next.—ARCHD. DUNLOP, Collector to the Board. November 22, 1872.

BLUESKIN Road District.—Notice.—All rates due within the late road districts of Purakanui, Blueskin, and Deborah Bay, are hereby requested to be paid to me at my residence at Purakanui within thirty days from the date hereof, otherwise legal proceedings will be instituted for the recovery thereof.

For the convenience of Ratepayers I shall attend at the Blueskin Toll House from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday, 6th and Saturday 14th December; and at the School house, Lower Harbour, from 1 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, December 7th.—JOSEPH MAXWELL, Clerk and Collector, Blueskin Road Board. WAIKOUIAITI Road Board.—A Special Meeting of this Board will be held in the School, Merton, on 11th December next at 4 o’clock, p.m., to hear objections, if any, to valuation or assessment. All objections to be delivered in writing to the Clerk not later than 6th December next.—W.M. BAYLY, Clerk. November 21st, 1872.

NOTICE.—The Taieri Road Board will hold a meeting in the Athenæum, Riccarton, on Saturday, the 7th day of Dec., next, at 3 o’clock p.m., to consider appeals lodged against the assessment made on property within the District.—A. LEES, Clerk to the Board. Mosgiel, 25th November, 1872.

PALMERSTON District Road Board. Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of this Board will be held at the North-Western Hotel on Wednesday, the 18th of December, 1872, at 12 o’clock, to hear objections (if any).—JOHN KEEN, Clerk to the Board.

IMPOUNDED on the 29th day of November, 1872, by Messrs Boyd Brothers, North Taieri, one Bay draught entire colt, white face, off hind fetlock white, owner unknown, for trespassing on Messrs Boyd’s paddocks and annoying mares, for which Five Pounds damages are claimed, and in default of being released, the above Colt will be sold at the public pound at East Taieri, on Friday, the 20th day of December, 1872, at twelve o’clock noon.—JAMES PURVIS, Poundkeeper of the East Taieri pound.

IMPOUNDED on the 22nd day of November, 1872, by John Finn, Inspector of Nuisances, one red bullock, branded like N J on near rump, owner unknown, for wandering in the streets, and in default of being released, the above bullock will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha, on Friday, the 20th December, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—GEORGE BAIN, Poundkeeper of the Balclutha pound.
