OTAGO HARBOR.

Tenders will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday, 10th December, 1872, for the following service:—

A Steamer to run daily between Port Chalmers and Otago Heads, calling at the Quarantine Station as often as required; carrying free of charge all pilots and Provincial and General Revenue officers, also the members of the Health Board to and from vessels when on official duty. Service to be for one year.

The Government will not be bound to accept any offer.

COAL RATIONS, Invercargill.

Tenders will be received at the Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday, 10th December, 1872, for supply of the above rations during 1873. Forms of Tender may be obtained from the Gaoler. The Government does not bind itself to accept any tender.

KURI BUSH Road Board.

Fresh Tenders are wanted for repairing main road to Kuri Bush from main road Otakia to Quayle's Pinch. Specifications may be seen at Reliance Hotel, White Horse Hotel, and with the clerk. Tenders to be sent addressed chairman, Kuri Bush Road Board, post-office, Otakia, not later than noon of Friday, 6th December, 1872. The board will not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any tender.—George H. Christie, Clerk for Board.

WANTED a Teacher for the Hyde Side School.

Salary £80 per annum, with the school fees and a residence. Applications with testimonials, to be lodged with the Hon. Sec. on or before 13th December.

SCHOOLMISTRESS Wanted for the Kaikorai District School,

in consequence of the resignation of the present mistress.

Salary, Government grant of £60 and 20 per cent of the School Fees, expected to amount to about £40 more. Applications, with certificates, will be received till Monday, 9th December next, by

WANTED a Teacher for the Side School, Sawyer's Bay.

Salary £75 per annum and School fees, and residence. Number of scholars about 50. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned on or before the 10th December next.—Joseph Morris, Secretary to School Committee. November 11, 1872.

TEACHER Wanted, for the District School, Maungatua.

Salary, the government allowance of £100, with school fees, subject to a reduction of £10. Annual attendance about 70. Four-roomed house, garden, and nine-acre paddock. HAVELOCK Cemetery.

His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed Mr Duncan M'Taggart to be a manager of Havelock Cemetery vice James Duke, who has left the district.

PROVINCIAL Government Quartz Crushing Machine,

Rattray-street Jetty, Dunedin.

Parties desirous of having quartz tested are informed that they can do so at the Government Battery. Charges and conditions as follows:— One ton or less, 20s; one ton and not exceeding two tons, 1s per cwt; two tons up to 10 tons at the rate of 15s per ton. Payment to be made previous to commencing crushing, the party to send a representative to feed and assist during crushing.

The Provincial Government Offices will remain closed on Monday 2nd December next instead of Saturday, 30th November current.

A Special Meeting of the Education Board will be held at the Government Offices, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 12th day of December, 1872, at noon.

EDUCATION MEETINGS.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Annual Statutory Meeting of the Owners and Occupiers of Land and Householders in each Educational District, for the Election of a new School Committee, and for the other purposes specified by Ordinance, will be held upon Monday, the 13th day of January, 1873, at seven o'clock p.m., at the following mentioned places respectively, viz.:

At Dunedin, in the Middle District School-house, between York place and Dowling street.

At Tokomairiro, in the Main District School-house, Milton.

And in the respective School-houses, or buildings used as School-houses, in the following mentioned districts, viz.—Port Chalmers, Portobello, North East Harbour, Anderson's Bay, North East Valley, Wakari, Kaikorai, Mornington, Caversham, Green Island, East Taieri, Saddle Hill, North Taieri, Lake Waipori, Waihola, Balclutha, Warepa, Kaihiku, Blueskin, Waikouaiti, Hampden, Otepopo, Oamaru, Lawrence, Queenstown, Waihola Gorge, West Taieri, Maungatua, Clyde, Alexandra, Naseby (Mount Ida), Palmerston, Waitahuna, Port Molyneux, Pleasant River, Arrowtown, Cromwell, East Clutha, Waitepeka, Inch Clutha, Kaitangata, Switzers, Invercargill, Long Bush, Wallace Town, Campbelltown, Woodlands, Waianiwa.

WANTED, a competent Teacher, on the 1st Jan. 1873, for the New School, Pukeuri,

six miles from Oamaru; over 50 children supposed to be able to attend. Salary: Government Grant and School Fees, and nearly five acres of glebe, on which a comfortable residence is about to be erected. Applications, with testimonials, to be forwarded on or before 17th December, and addressed to the Clerk, Pukeuri School Committee, Oamaru. MASTER Wanted for Mount Ida District School.

Salary: Government Subsidy, £100, and a portion of School Fees, worth at least £100 more, but will probably increase. Residence and garden. Engagement to commence on 1st April, 1873. Applications, with testimonials, to be sent not later than 20th December, 1872, to James Stewart, Clerk, Naseby.

WANTED, a Teacher for the Lake Waipori Side School.

Salary: Government Subsidy and School Fees, with excellent four-roomed house and well-stocked garden. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged with the Chairman on or before 20th December, 1872.
