All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 17a 3r 0p more or less being a road line situate in Kaitangata Survey District bounded towards the south-east by sections numbered 15 16 17 18 and 19 block I seventeen thousand nine hundred (17900) links more or less and towards the north-west by sections numbered 20 21 22 23 block I seventeen thousand six hundred (17600) links more or less.

  1. Harewood.

(1.) All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 1a 3r 25p more or less being part of original section 28 block I Invercargill Hundred and now known as a portion of Avenal Road Township of Harewood bounded towards the north by the remaining part of section 28 block I aforesaid one thousand and fifty (1050) links and nine hundred and twenty (920) links towards the east by the other part of Avenal Road ninety-seven (97) links towards the south by the other part of section 28 block I aforesaid nine hundred (900) links and one thousand and seventy (1070) links and towards the west by high water mark one hundred (100) links be all the aforesaid linkages more or less and intersected by the Oreti Railway Reserve.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No 686.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Contract No. 693—Forming and metalling 123 chains 30 links of road, Palmerston to Oamaru, commencing from the east end of Contract No. 692, and extending towards Oamaru.

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Oamaru.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contracts No. 691, 692, or 693,” as the case may be.


PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

In conformity to the 29th Section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at Naseby, on or before the 18th day of November, 1872.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Naseby.
