PROCLAMATION
Of His Excellency the Governor having assented to an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago.
By His Honor George Turnbull, Esq., Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS in the Thirtieth Session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, the Bill hereinafter mentioned was passed by the said Council—(that is to say):
A Bill shortly intituled “Oamaru Town Reserves Management Ordinance 1872.”
And whereas the said Bill was presented to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago for the assent of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand thereto, and the said Superintendent did upon the said Bill being so presented to him as aforesaid, declare that he reserved the same for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon:
And whereas the said Bill has since been laid before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and he has been pleased to assent to the same.
Now therefore I, George Turnbull, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Bill before-mentioned, that is to say—the “Oamaru Town Reserves Management Ordinance 1872,” has been laid before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and that His Excellency has assented to the same.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, in the said Province, this seventeenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th Section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at Macraes, on or before the 21st day of November, 1872.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Macraes.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 22nd day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

SCHEDULE.
Matthew William Hawkins, for the Shamrock Company (Registered), for 10 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be contained within the pegs and trenches of the Applicants, situated on the Dunback Ranges, Shag Valley, Otago.
It is hereby notified that Mr Henry Connell has been appointed Surveyor for the Oamaru Circuit of Districts, vice Mr Alex. M. Ross resigned.
