PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th Section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at Naseby, on or before the 2nd day of November, 1872.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Naseby.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 15th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

SCHEDULE.
Charles Fracombe Roberts, for the Energetic Quartz Mining Company, for 16 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be contained within the pegs and trenches of the applicant, situated on the Great Eastern Reef, Roughridge.
PUBLIC NOTICE,
Under Section 1, of Regulation IV.
WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that those portions of the Otago Gold Field, described in the Schedule hereto, are for the whole or greater part of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits: Now, therefore, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners’ Rights in claims of the undermentioned size, viz:—
One (1) acre for each holder of a Miner’s Right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres.
Given under my hand at Cromwell, this 1st day of October, 1872.

Schedule.
All that portion of the Otago Gold Field, situate at Cromwell Flat, ¼ of a mile north of the Cromwell Bridge: bounded on the north by Crown lands; on the south by Crown lands; on the east by the Clutha River; and on the west by Crown lands; comprising 2 acres.
Also, all that portion of the Otago Gold Field situate on the South Branch of Luggate Creek, adjoining the extended claim of Reid and Nippen, and being on the Western side line thereof; comprising 2 acres.
Also, all that portion of the Otago Gold Field situate at Bailey’s gully, and adjoining Bailey’s old claim on the west side; and bounded on the north, east, and south sides by Crown lands; comprising 5 acres.
Also, all that portion of the Otago Gold Field situate at Nevis Gorge, three miles above the Nevis township; bounded on the north by the extended claim of Sang Wal and party; south by Crown lands; east by Crown lands; west by Crown lands; comprising 5 acres.
And also, all that portion of the Otago Gold Fields comprised within the following boundaries: commencing on the east side of the Kawarau River at Stuart’s punt; thence by the said river to the Kirtleburn...
