TENDERS will be received by telegraph or otherwise, until 4 o’clock p.m. of Monday, 12th August, 1872, for a License to occupy for the remainder of the current year, and from year to year thereafter for 7 years, for the purpose of felling and sawing timber, the piece of Bush Land (about 240 acres) lately licensed to Bolt, M’Kay and Co. for sawmill.

Tender to state the rent for the present year, and the annual rent thereafter.

ANDERSON’S BAY LOCAL BOARD.—Tenders wanted for 50 Yards of Metal, to Quarry and Spread on District Road leading towards Silver Acres. Also to cut down head of District Road leading towards Lagoon to level of Portobello Road. Tenders to be lodged, up to Friday, the 9th inst., with Mr Adam Nichol, Anderson’s Bay, from whom particulars can be obtained.—J. M. SAMUEL, Clerk Local Board.

BRIGHTON ROAD BOARD.—Tenders will be received by the undersigned, until noon of Tuesday, the 13th instant, for the erection of a Bridge over Otokia Creek, the insertion of two Culverts, &c. on Beach Road, and certain Side Cuttings at what is termed the Round Hill. Intending contractors to meet at 12 o’clock on Saturday, the 10th instant, at the house of Mr. J. B. Blair, when the works will be pointed out to them.—P. T. LEITCH, Clerk.—Otokia, 3rd August, 1872.

BLUESKIN ROAD DISTRICT.—Tenders will be received, on or before Wednesday, 7th August, for Works to be done on the road known as the Quarry Road, in Block II. Specifications may be seen at the Toll-house, Blueskin. Tenders to be left at Mr Finlayson’s Store there, addressed to the Commissioner for the Blueskin Road District. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—27th July, 1872.

APPLICATIONS are invited for the offices of Head Master, Second Master, and School Mistress for the Invercargill Grammar School about to be established. The salary of the Head Master will be not less than £300 per annum, with residence. The salary of the Second Master not less than £175 per annum, and that of the School Mistress, not less than £100 per annum. The successful applicants will be expected to be in Invercargill to commence their duties after the Christmas vacation. Applications must be received not later than the first week in September, 1872, and be accompanied by testimonials and references, to be addressed to the "Chairman, Invercargill School Committee, Invercargill, New Zealand."

Kaikorai District—In the Schoolhouse, Kaikorai.

Wakari District—In the Schoolhouse, Wakari.

N.B.—The Kaikorai district meeting will be held in the Kaikorai Schoolhouse, and not in Roslyn Hall, as formerly advertised.

CLYDE SCHOOL HOUSE FOR SALE.—To be sold by auction, at the Survey Office, Clyde, upon Wednesday, the 21st August, 1872, immediately after the sale of Crown Lands, Section 1c, Block I, Clyde Township, with the buildings thereon used as a Schoolhouse. For conditions of sale, apply to A. Christophers, Esq., Clyde.

EDUCATION RESERVES.—The following Education Reserves will be leased by Mr Hay, Auctioneer, Lawrence, on Monday, 19th August, immediately after the sale of Crown Lands:

Section 1, block V, Rankleburn, 143a 2r
Section 1, block VI, Rankleburn, 136a 3r
Section 20, block XXVII, Lawrence, 1r.

Copies of regulations and conditions of lease may be had at the Education Office.

Postponement of day of Sale.

The following Education Reserves will be leased at the rooms of Mr. Capstick, Tokomairiro, on Monday, the 2nd day of September, immediately after the sale of the Crown Lands:

Section 17, block VI, Kaitangata, 116a 2r

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

EDUCATION RESERVES, SOUTHLAND.

APPLICATIONS will be received by Mr. John H. Baker, Survey Office, Invercargill, from persons wishing to lease any of the Reserves as formerly advertised. Copies of the Otago Regulations, and conditions for the Leasing of Education Reserves can be obtained from Mr. Baker, Invercargill.

MONDAY, 12th August.

NOTICE is hereby given that sections 102 and 103, block 5, Otepopo District, containing respectively 18a 1r 7p, and 18a 1r 32p, and section 5, block 9, Awamoko District, containing 154a 2r, will be offered for sale by public auction at the auction of Mr. S. Shrimski, at Oamaru, on Monday, the 12th day of August next at noon, at the upset price of 10s per acre.

EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS.—In consequence of the alteration of the boundaries of the Educational Districts of Kaikorai and Wakari, a meeting of the owners and occupiers of land and householders, in each of the said districts, will be held in the undermentioned places, upon Monday the 19th day of Aug., 1872, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., for the election of a School Committee for the remainder of the current year.
