PUBLIC NOTICE,
Under Section 1, Regulation IV.
WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that the portions of the Otago Gold Field described in the Schedule hereto, are for the whole or the greater part of an inferior character as regards the value of the gold deposits: Now, therefore, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners’ Rights in claims of the undermentioned size, viz.:—
One (1) acre for each holder of a Miner’s Right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres altogether.
Given under my hand, at Queenstown, this twelfth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

SCHEDULE.
All that portion of the Otago Gold Fields contained within the following boundaries: Commencing at Fox Peak, thence by a line due north to the west branch of the Matukituki River; thence down the Matukituki to Lake Wanaka; thence along the south-western margin of Lake Wanaka, and along the Clutha River, to the Mouth of the Cardrona Creek; thence up the Cardrona Creek to the Mouth of the Branch Creek; thence by a line running due east to the summit of the nearest watershed; thence south-west along the summit of the watershed to the head of the Kirtle Burn; thence down the Kirtle Burn to the Kawaru River; thence up the Kawaru River to a point due south of Rock Peak; thence south-westerly along the spurs of the Hector Mountains to Double Cone; thence southerly along the summit of the Hector Mountains to Lorn Peak; thence south-westerly by a right line to the Mataura River; thence along the boundary of the Wakatipu Gold Field to the starting point.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN Conformity to the 29th Section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the “Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869,” for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at Queenstown, on or before the 9th day of August, 1872.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Queenstown.
