And whereas the said Governor hath by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, delegated to James Macandrew, Esq., the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, within the said Province, so long as he shall remain Superintendent of the Province, the several powers vested in the Governor or the Governor in Council by the second, fourth, fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth sections of "The Diseased Cattle Act 1861" aforesaid, and all the powers which by the fifth section of "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act 1865," the Governor in Council is authorised so to delegate.
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, by virtue of such powers in me vested, do hereby proclaim and declare that, after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the Colonies of Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia, and Tasmania, and all the other Provinces in the Colony of New Zealand, the county of Westland in the said Colony, and the Chatham Islands, shall be deemed Infected Districts within the meaning of the said Acts;
and I do further proclaim and declare the following Regulations for the destruction of Diseased Cattle, and for the preventing and regulating the removal or transportation of cattle from the said several Infected Districts into the Province of Otago:—
I.—If any person shall import, drive, or remove, or cause to be imported, driven, or removed, or assist in driving or removing any cattle from any of the said infected districts into the Province of Otago, except into a Quarantine Ground, and after having obtained a Quarantine certificate from an Inspector of Cattle, such person shall be liable to a penalty of fifty pounds for every head of cattle so imported, driven, or removed.
II.—It shall be lawful for any Inspector of Cattle or Police Constable to destroy or cause to be destroyed any diseased cattle which shall pass into this Province from any of the said districts contrary to these Regulations.
III.—If any person shall wilfully impede or obstruct any Inspector or any Police Constable acting under the authority of these Regulations, every person so offending shall be liable to a penalty of fifty pounds.
IV.—These Regulations shall take effect from and after the day following the date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A WOOL-PACK AND SACK MANUFACTORY IN OTAGO.
The Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Wool-packs and Sacks, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £1000 as under:—
On the erection of buildings and machinery to the value of at least £2000—£500.
On the production of Sacks or Wool-packs to a value of not less than £500—£250.
On the production of a further quantity of Sacks or Wool-packs to the value of not less than £1000—£250.
The cloth in each case to be produced by machinery permanently established in the Province, and to be manufactured either wholly or to a large extent from Phormium Tenax, or other indigenous plants, or from other material grown in the Province.
Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until the 10th of July, 1872, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the machinery proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £1000 to produce Sacks and Woolpacks to the value of £1500 within three years from the date on which their offer is accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.

BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A GLASS BOTTLE MANUFACTORY.
The Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Glass Bottles in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £300, as under:—
On the erection of building and plant, of a value of not less than £500—£100.
On production of 100 gross of bottles—£100.
On production of a further quantity of 200 gross—£100.
Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, and should state the estimated cost of the works proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £250 to produce 500 gross of Bottles within two years from the date on which the tender is accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.

BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PAPER MANUFACTORY.
The Provincial Government being desirous of promoting the introduction and establishment of a Paper Manufactory in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise; and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £1500; as under—such bonus to be in addition to a bonus of £2,500 offered by the General Government for the first 100 tons of printing paper produced by machinery permanently established and working in the Colony:—
On the erection of machinery, of a value of not less than £3,000—£750.
On production of 20 tons of paper, of a value not less than £500—£375.
On production of a further quantity of 30 tons, of a value of not less than £750—£375.
The paper to be produced by machinery permanently established and working in the Province.
Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until the 10th of July, 1872, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the machinery proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £1000 to produce 150 tons of paper within three years from the date on which their offer is accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.
VACCINATION.—By Appointment of His Excellency the Governor, ROBT. BURNS, Esquire, Surgeon, will attend at his Office, Princes street, Dunedin, every Tuesday and Friday, at 1 p.m., and at the Court House, Port Chalmers, on the second Wednesday of every month, at 1 p.m., to Vaccinate, gratuitously, all persons who may then appear and desire to.
