places incorporated under “The Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865,” after the passing of the said Act: And whereas it is expedient that the several parts of the said first-mentioned Act which are hereinafter mentioned and enumerated, should be extended and applied to the town of Balclutha, in the Province of Otago, a town or place incorporated after the passing of the said Act.
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the twelfth day of June next, the complete parts of the several parts of “The Municipal Corporations Act 1867,” numbered respectively,
PART XIII.,
intituled “Government of Boroughs and Bye-laws,”
and
PART XXII.,
intituled “Miscellaneous,”
shall extend and be applied to the said town of Balclutha.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, in the said Province, this tenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PAPER MANUFACTORY.
THE Provincial Government being desirous of promoting the introduction and establishment of a Paper Manufactory in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise; and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £1500 as under—such bonus to be in addition to a bonus of £2,500 offered by the General Government for the first 100 tons of printing paper produced by machinery permanently established and working in the Colony:—
On the erection of machinery of a value of not less than £3,000—£750.
On production of 20 tons of paper, of a value not less than £500—£375.
On production of a further quantity of 30 tons, of a value of not less than £750—£375.
The paper to be produced by machinery permanently established and working in the Province.
Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until the 10th of July, 1872, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the machinery proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £1000 to produce 150 tons of paper within three years from the date on which their offer is accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.

PUBLIC NOTICE.
Under Section 1, Regulation IV.
WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that the portion of the Otago Goldfield described in the Schedule hereto, is for the whole or the greater part of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits: Now therefore I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners’ Rights in claims of the undermentioned size, viz.:
One (1) Acre for each holder of a Miner’s Right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres altogether.
Given under my hand at Naseby, this fourth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

All that portion of the Otago Gold Field, situate at Buchler’s Gully, Hogburn, comprising two acres more or less, and contained in the following boundaries, viz: bounded on the north by old worked ground 100 yards, on the south by old worked ground 120 yards, on the east by old worked ground 120 yards, and on the west by Run No. 3030, 100 yards.

Priority of choice in the selection of the books on their arrival here will be strictly determined by the dates on which the several Committees forward their subscriptions to this Office, or submit their claims to free grants in respect of moneys expended by them directly on the purchase of library books.

BREAD.—Tenders will be received at the Government Offices, Dunedin, until Friday, 21st June, 1872, for supply of Hospital, Immigration Depot, and Lunatic Asylum with Bread, for the Six Months ending 31st December, 1872.
A deposit of £20 must be lodged with the tender, to be forfeited if tender is not adhered to by tenderer. Forms of tender may be had from the Government Storeskeeper.
PRINTING.—Tenders wanted, to be lodged at the Superintendent’s Office by noon of Friday, 14th June, 1872, for printing and binding Otago Railway Rules and Regulations. For particulars apply at the Superintendents Office, Dunedin. 4th June, 1872.
CASH PAYMENT.
TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Friday, 28th June, for Contract No. 649—Construction of a timber bridge over the Waihopai stream, on road Invercargill to Winton.
