HENLEY ROAD DISTRICT
The precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rates for the above named district for the year 1871-72 having been issued by the General Road Board, Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me on or before the 7th June, 1872.—Peter Lithgo, Collector. BLUESKIN ROAD DISTRICT
The precept authorising the collection of the Blueskin Road District Local Road Rates, having now been issued, all Ratepayers are hereby requested to make payment of their respective assessments, to the Collector, Ronk. Finlayson, Storekeeper, Blueskin, at his residence there. 25th May, 1872.
ERRATA
The chestnut filly advertised in last week’s Gazette ought to be f O off neck, instead of 20. The brindled cow and calf should be like O H off rump. The red heifer O H off rump.—H. Gilkison, Poundkeeper Palmerston Pound.
IMPOUNDED
On the 25th day of May, 1872, by Mr. Muir, farmer, North Taieri, 1 black horse, no visible brand; 1 roan poney, branded like J off neck, unknown, for trespassing on Mr. Muir’s paddock, North Taieri, for which is claimed 5s. 3d. per head damages and expenses incurred driving to Pound; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at West Taieri, on Friday, the 14th day of June, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—Michael Tynan, Poundkeeper of the West Taieri Pound.
On the 21st day of May, 1872, by Joseph Moore, one Red and White Bullock, branded like AD conjoined off rump, for trespassing on Cable and Co.’s run, for which no damages are claimed. In default of being released, the above bullock will be sold at the Public Pound, at Lake Waipori, on Friday, the 14th day of June, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—James Henderson, Poundkeeper of the Lake Waipori Pound.
On the 20th day of May, 1872, by Andrew Churnside, one red bullock, branded RN off rump, owner unknown, for trespassing on his paddock, for which 2s is claimed; and in default of being released, the above bullock will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha, on the 14th day of June, 1872, at twelve o’clock noon.—George Bain, Poundkeeper of the Balclutha Pound.
On the 22nd day of May, 1872, by Mounted Constable O’Neal, at West Taieri, one bay horse, brand like 2A off shoulder; one bay horse, brand like shield near shoulder; owner unknown, for trespassing on public road, North Taieri, for which no damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at West Taieri, on Friday, the 14th day of June, 1872, at twelve o’clock noon.—Michael Tynan, Poundkeeper of the West Taieri Pound.
PROPOSED by Mr. James Bruce, seconded by Mr. John G. Grey—Having heard from the Secretary (Mr. R. W. Capstick) a statement of the position and affairs of the Company, and learning therefore the present unfavourable financial position of the Company, resolve that, while approving of the action of the Directors in disposing of the lease and other effects of the Company to Mr. Moores, that immediate measures be taken for dissolving the Company, and that Mr. R. W. Capstick be appointed Liquidator for that purpose.

The above resolution was proposed and carried at a meeting of the Bruce Lime and Coal Company’s Limited, held in Mr. Capstick’s Office on Saturday, 18th May, 1872.

THE Partnership hitherto existing between Alexander Innes Grant, Percival Clay Neill, and Robert Campbell Grant, as Flax Manufacturers at Blueskin, is this day dissolved by mutual consent. The business will in future be carried on by Alexander Innes Grant and Robert Campbell Grant, under the firm of Grant and Co., as heretofore, who will be responsible for all liabilities, and to whom all debts must be paid.
