NOTICE is hereby given, that the remaining parts of sections 5 and 7, block XIII, Inch Clutha District, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Crown Hotel, Balclutha, on Monday, the 1st day of July next, at noon, as land of special value, at the upset price of 25s. per acre.

NOTICE is given, that sections 55 and 56, block II, Dunedin and East Taieri District, containing respectively 31a 2r 30p and 46a 0r 10p, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Monday, the 1st July next, at noon, at the upset price of 10s. per acre.

ADDITIONAL BYE-LAWS for the New River Hundred, passed by the Wardens at their meeting on the 30th March, and sanctioned by the Waste Land Board :—

That every license-holder shall within fourteen days after this bye-law is published in a local paper, make a return to the Warden living nearest to him, showing the numbers and brands of all stock depastured by him on the New River Hundred. The Wardens will not be responsible for any mistakes which may arise through noncompliance with this requirement.

Bye-laws for the Invercargill Hundred.

  1. That no sheep shall be depastured on any unsold land within the Hundred.

  2. That no entire horse over twelve months old, and no bull over six months old shall be depastured without special permission of the Wardens; and no bull shall be at large for a longer period than three years.

  3. That all license-holders shall on or before the first day of April, 1872, register with the nearest Warden a statement of the number of cattle and horses depastured by them on the unsold land within the Hundred, with their brands.

  4. That before removing or slaughtering cattle, owners shall give notice in writing to the nearest Warden.

  5. That any person about to bring cattle on the run, shall one week before so doing, furnish to the nearest Warden, in writing, such information as shall give opportunity for inspection.

  6. That no person shall be allowed to depasture on lands within the Hundred, under the jurisdiction of the Wardens, more than one head of cattle for every ten acres of land owned or occupied by him within the Hundred.

  7. That all stray cattle may be impounded.

  8. That the penalty for any breach of the foregoing bye-laws shall be any sum not exceeding five pounds, (£5) to be recovered in a summary manner, in accordance with the 45th clause of the “Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865.”

PUBLICANS’ LICENSES.—The Quarterly meetings for granting Licenses, &c., will be held in the Resident Magistrates’ Courts throughout the Province on Tuesday, 4th June, 1872, at noon.

POLLING PLACE.—Waikouaiti District.—The School House, Maorae, has been made an additional polling place for the said district for the election of member for the House of Representatives. See Proclamation in New Zealand Gazette of 10th May, 1872.
