Mr. John Wishart will point out the works on Thursday, the 23rd inst. Also, fresh tenders will be received for Contract No. 3, for Forming (10) ten chains more or less, of bridle track, at the head of Hooper’s Inlet; William Dickson will show the specifications and Contract No. 12, for Metalling (10) ten chains, more or less, of road line on Hooper’s Inlet Beach; James Muir will show the works on Thursday, the 23rd inst. Sealed tenders to be sent in to the Clerk of the Board, endorsed (Tender) before 12 o’clock noon, on Saturday the 26th inst. The Board do not necessarily accept the lowest or any tender.

WANTED, for the Queenstown Main District School, a Schoolmaster and Schoolmistress. Salary: Government subsidy of £160, and School fees of 1s per week added, subject to a deduction of £30 per annum. Probable salary from above sources £300 with a good house rent free. Must be duly qualified teachers, and the master able to teach singing. Engagement to be for one year only. WANTED—A Teacher for the Side School, Hill End. Salary, £75 per annum, and school fees, house, and glebe. Applications to be lodged with the undersigned on or before the 31st May.—Daniel Bower, Hill End, Balclutha.


WAIKOUAITI School District.—A Teacher is required for the Waikouaiti School. District under the Board of Education. Salary—Government subsidy and school fees, with free residence. WANTED, a Teacher for the Purakanui School. Salary, Government grant, £50 per annum, with school fees. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged, on or before the 15th of May, with Mr. J. Baly, Clerk to School Committee, Purakanui.


WANTED, a Teacher for the Waireka School, near Oamaru. Salary, £75 per annum and school fees, and rent allowance. The average attendance for 1871 was 37; for last quarter, 42; on the roll, 51.—Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned on or before the 5th June.—Robert Jackson, Clerk School Committee.


WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS

NOTICE is hereby given that section 9, block VI, Otago Peninsula District, containing 166a 1r 6p will be offered for sale by public auction, as land of special value, at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Monday, the 17th June next, at noon, at the upset price of 25s per acre.


EDUCATION RESERVES SOUTHLAND

APPLICATIONS will be received by Mr. John H. Baker, Survey Office, Invercargill, from persons wishing to lease any of the Reserves as formerly advertised. Copies of the Otago Regulations, and conditions for the Leasing of Education Reserves can be obtained from Mr. Baker, Invercargill.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the lease, for 10 years, of Run No. 207, containing 9660 acres, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Monday, the 17th day of June, 1872, at noon, in terms of Clause 73, “Otago Waste Lands Act 1866,” at the upset price of half-penny per acre, rental to be assessment of 3s. 6d. per head on Cattle depastured, power reserved to increase assessment if understocked. Lease to commence 12th December, 1872.

THE following Reserves will be leased by auction at the Land Office, Dunedin, immediately after the sale of Crown Land there, on Friday, the 17th May, 1872:

Section 1 of 53, block IV, Maungatua, 40 acres
Section 32 and 33, block IV, 85 acres
Section 2 of 20, block II, 40 acres

The lease of the last-mentioned Section will be sold subject to valuation for improvements. Copies of Regulations and Condition of Lease may be had on application at the Education Office.
