It is hereby notified that I have appointed

Mr. George Frederick Richardson,
Mr. Frederick Henry Girsow, and
Mr. John Duncan McArthur,

to be District Surveyors for the “Hokanui and Oteramika,” “Aparima,” and “Eyre and Invercargill” Districts, respectively.

ABSTRACT FROM PREVIOUS GAZETTES

Of Impounding Notices:

17th May, Friday, noon, nine cows, two calves, two heifers, and five steers, will be sold at Lawrence Pound.

17th May, Friday, noon, one cow, one calf, two heifers, and one steer will be sold at Papakaio Pound.

17th May, Friday, noon, one cow and one steer will be sold at Hawksbury Pound.

24th May, Friday noon, a cow, a cow, three heifers and three steers will be sold at the Popotunoä pound.

Time Extended.

Tenders will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Saturday, 28th May, for

Contract No. 479.—Construction of a Stone and Iron Bridge over the Paiwata Stream, Main South Road.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; and at the Police Station, Balclutha.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 479.”
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

BREADALBANE Road Board.—Tenders are invited for Gravelling District Roads. Specifications, etc., may be seen at Mr. Robert Hartley’s, North Taieri, up to the 20th inst.; upon which day, at 12 o’clock, all tenders must be delivered to Mr. Hartley.

PORTOBELLO Road Board.—Tenders wanted for the undermentioned works:—Contract No. 7 for certain repairs on Hooper’s Inlet road. William Dickson will show the works on Friday, the 17th inst., between the hours of 12 o’clock noon and 2 p.m.

Contract No. 8—for certain repairs on swamp road, on eastern side of Hooper’s Inlet. James Muir will show the works.

Contract No. 9—Arthur Seat Ward, for 6 chains, more or less, forming and metalling, and Contract No. 10 for forming and repairing 10 chains, more or less, of roadway. John Wishart will show the works.

Sealed tenders to be sent in to the Clerk of the Board by 2 o’clock p.m. on Saturday, the 18th inst. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
