Professor James Gow Black, M.A.D. Sc.,
Residing in Dunedin, to be Local Analyst, under "The Adulteration of Food Act 1866."

IT is hereby notified that a Writ, issued for the election of a person to serve as a Member of the Provincial Council for Port Chalmers District has been returned, with a certificate to the effect that

Of Impounding Notices:—

26th April, Friday noon, 2 heifers, a cow, and a calf will be sold at West Hawksbury Pound.

Friday noon, a cow will be sold at West Pound.

3rd May, Friday, noon, a cow and a steer will be sold at Glenkenich Pound.

TENDERS wanted by the Brighton Road Board,

for the erection of a bridge over Taylor’s Creek. Plans and specifications to be seen at the store of Mr. Peter M’Laren, Brighton, up to 12 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 3rd May, at the Otokia School-house, by which time all Tenders must be lodged with Mr. Blair, Brighton, or the undersigned.

The plans and specifications will then be seen, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 3rd May.

TENDERS Wanted by the Caversham Road Board

for supplying and spreading twenty yards Maintenance Metal. Specifications may be seen at the Bay View Hotel, or Mr. Bennet’s, clothier, Princes street;

and Tenders to be lodged with the Chairman of the Board at M’Landress, Hepburn & Co.’s, before Saturday, the 27th inst.—Caversham, 23rd April, 1872.

WANTED, Tenders for five or six miles of sod

fencing to be erected on the Strath-Taieri Plain. Specifications may be seen, and tenders lodged with Mr. John Nimmo, West Taieri; or Mr. Alex. Brown, Green Island, up to April 30. Lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

BROAD BAY—Tenders wanted for work in the

Broad Bay Road District for repairs on the Hooper’s Inlet bridle track. Mr. Draper will show the above work at 12 o’clock on the 25th instant.—Robert Raynbird,
